PokerStars has announced the EPT Open Sochi as a new part of European Poker. The event will take place from September 21st to 29th in Sochi, Russia. Not only will the winner of the EPT Open Sochi Main Event win a lot of money for the win, but he or she will also receive a $ 30,000 Platinum Pass for the PokerStars Players Championship in early 2019.

PokerStars is still working on completing the EPT Open Sochi schedule. The dates for the Main Event and the High Roller tournament are already known.

It is noticeable that the EPT Open Sochi is moving at a lower buy-in level. For example, the EPT Open Sochi Main Event, which runs from September 25th to 29th, has a buy-in of RUB 132,000 - equivalent to about $ 2,125. Nevertheless, a prize pool of RUB 60,000,000 (about $ 1 million) is guaranteed. The EPT Open Sochi High Roller is scheduled for September 28th - 29th with a buy-in of RUB 258,000 (approximately $ 4,150). PokerStars has promised that one of the five Platinum Passes awarded during the EPT Open Sochi Festival will be dedicated to the winner of the Main Event.

Mikhail Shalamov: "It's great to see the EPT return to Sochi with the EPT Open Sochi."

It will be the second time that the European Poker Tour 2018 stops in Sochi - the EPT was already in Russia from 20 to 29 March. Arsenii Karmatckii won the event at a final table that only Russian players and one player from Armenia had won. The victory was RUB 27,300,000 ($ 478,451).
    PokerStars Players Championship

Each Platinum Pass has a value of $ 30,000. This includes a seat for the $ 25,000 PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) event in the Bahamas, accommodation at the luxurious Atlantis Resort and $ 2,000 for travel expenses and groceries. PokerStars believes the PSPC will be the biggest high roller poker tournament that has ever happened.

Players coming to Sochi will have the chance to meet representatives of PokerStars, take home free merchandise and enjoy all the amenities that Sochi Casino & Resort has to offer. The festival takes place shortly before the Sochi Autodrome - the Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held on the 30th of September. Motorsport fans should therefore think about extending their stay in Russia by one day.

Satellites for the EPT Open Sochi are already online at PokerStars. There are many different buy-ins starting from $ 22. These satellites will be awarded $ 3,100 Main Event Packages, which will cover both the buy-in for the Main Event and travel expenses and hotel expenses.

Commenting on the EPT Open Sochi Festival, PokerStars representative Mikhail Shalamov said, "It's great to see the EPT return to Sochi with EPT Open Sochi. The smaller main event buy-in this time gives players with all bankrolls the great opportunity to play at home against some of the best players in the world. More than 1,300 players from 61 different countries participated in the EPT earlier this year! "
