Poker psychology at the table or statistics

These days, after watching the game go of some players has emerged me a doubt.

Are you look closely more in the psychology of it or the data table you could have?

I opted for the psychology of the table, although I doubt if I do the right thing. The reason is that it has happened with several players who were playing almost " tilt" and after a good hand change the game mode , or play with more respect.
