Many folks feel that online poker and online games in general are rigged, or machine controlled to determine the outcome.

With that said, if you broke even online, the experience you would receive viewing thousands of hands and situations, would certainly excel your game (when playing live).

Many say that they will never deposit again (since Black Friday), so now there are alternative sites, subscription sites, and pay sites that offer "play money" games, and even sites that allow you to play without a deposit, and earn your bankroll through a series of wins in freerolls (or as the call them on JaoPoker), "freebuys."

You can play 5-6 of them a day, some bigger prized ones throughout the month, and you can challenge yourself the discipline to win (cash), and then grow your bankroll. The eventual goal is to cash out some profits, but that will take time, and during your personal challenge, your game with grow (we both hope).

Come check it out, post your successes here, and share hand histories when you need some guidance.

over the years i have played online poker and thought everything you have wrote, about rigged and controlled, yet when sitting at a live table and some of the same things happen, the possibility of it being true it exist, yes that is always possible, it does help live games by playing online because you are playing real players, i have 3 simulation software for poker on my computer, after awhile you can get were you learn how to beat them often , being said i still like them because they put me through a lot of hands, seeing a lot of possibilities. black Friday was not good, yet all it showed me was the people who were over it , mismanaged it. they paid a hard price to our politicians who i disagree with the results of online poker here, they created more of a problem and to me solved nothing, mismanagement is just that mismanagement. i play at jaopoker, i win i loose, i take a break. i play and IBO under PPIPOSSE.

Just make sure the online casino you chose is properly licensed. All the games will be tested by a third party so you can just relax and play.

well everything depends from the platform and the site, and also from the player itself

Playing online is great for convenience and practice ... I tend to play better when I can see my opponents, however there are different tactics that can be used when playing online and in some ways it makes playing easier as many of my decisions are more mechanically informed rather than worrying over-much about visible "tells".

I never thought they were rigged or controlled for the outcome for or against any specific players but I definitely believe that some poker software is designed to maximize the rake for the site owners. Way too many times whenever someone has a high pair in the hole someone else has one too especially in the mid level to high stakes games. Example: One player has pocket kings or queens while another has pocket aces.

If you play on some shady software I think it's possible to see bots on these sites, or even super users, but on biggest sites I think its prettty safe and I dont think so you will play against bots or anything else shady ;)
