OK, assume somebody has a serious disability, such that they cannot or do not want to go physically into a casino, but they want to gamble.

Their game of choice is slots.

Of course they could gamble online, but that always seems like a dubious proposition: so they choose not to gamble online.

They want to recreate the feel of being there, being immersed in the game, as much as possible.

    So now to the question:

Is today's technology good enough and affordable enough such that this person could have a surrogate gamble for him in a casino and the experience through him?

I would envision the surrogate using some form of camera with built in mic: can a live feed be streamed back to the shut-in in real time?

    What equipment would be recommended?

I assume it can be done, but I am a bit of a Luddite when it comes to current tech.

    Oops, bad edit, try again.

The question: "Is today's technology good enough and affordable enough such that this person could have a surrogate gamble for him in a casino and thereby observe and experience the real-time gambling through the surrogate?

If someone understands the technology of rng..then it wouldnt float their boat.

Because the result of any spin has to do with the split second you choose to hit the spin button or pull a lever. YOU have the control of the spin in a sense.

Would someone with no hands sitting in a wheel chair in a casino get joy from a stranger playing with his money? If I sit next to my wife as she plays, I get a little joy, but really crave to hit the button thinking of course that "my touch" will change the outcome.

I can actually see that in craps, where you have time to tell a person in a headset to take your bets down, or put some bets up, or change a bet. Or in BJ...where you can instruct someone to hit or double down. Although casinos wonbt want that because a card counter could be at the other end.

I'm not intimately familiar with it because I, too, am a bit of a Luddite and have no desire to change. However, I do know my GoPro has a bluetooth feature. Apparently someone could "plug in to it" as I was using it and view whatever my camera is seeing.

Of course, bluetooth requires proximity. But given all I've seen with the advent of micro digital cameras and social media, it wouldn't be some huge technological undertaking. People live stream all sorts of nonsense. I couldn't imagine doing it surreptitiously as most of this requires a computer. Then again, one could probably use a laptop or even a smartphone in lieu of a desktop and maybe do it on the sly.

$400 (new) for the GoPro + whatever a smartphone costs + probably free software = what you're looking for. Totally affordable.

they already advertise real cheap technology where you can have a camera in your doorbell....when someone rings it, whereever you are in the world(or in your home) you can see who is there and speak to them. Seems simple enough to develope for a craps table view. Even with the casinos in on it.
Imagine electronically depositiing 5000 dollars in a casino account. Your agent appears....maybe from an agency that hires out surrogates. They put on headgear(camera and earpiece) provided by the casino....and play at your direction.

If they play with enough money, the casino could foot the bill for the surrogate. Or you the "shut in" could pay an hourly fee to the agency.
