    Hello all,

Gambling affcionado, atheist on all things that start or end with the word "system - with a strong background in all games, deviated towards Craps where I learned the hard way (not hardways...which I never learned) and after years of dedicated play discovered Sam Grafstein's work - The Dice Doctor.

Twenty years later - author of two blogs, several guest blog credits and a chance to teach Sam's work to the world, I receive an invite to be a founding member here. I'm honored. As Mr. Grafstein was once quoted, no one has any respect with someone who Gambles and Loses...in fact I am a big advocat of winning ;-)....

“Don’t try impressing the casino personnel with your LOSSES. They will respect you much more as a WINNER. (Comp-wise and otherwise.)”

How true is that. I dissect Craps from the mindset of Sam Grafstein and am considered an expert at his plays - while his book is fairly straight forward - it does take the uninitiated a while to grasp his theories and understand not just the HOW but the WHY! It is that WHY that is applicable to any gambling game. Sam understands the battle that is walking into the Casino - it takes a solid game plan to play for keeps.

“I DON’T ADVOCATE GAMBLING!! But if you do gamble… PLAY FOR KEEPS. To say you are PLAYING FOR FUN, when money or materials are the stakes, IS AN INSULT TO THE INTELLIGENCE OF A RETARDED IMBECILE!!”

As well, have taken many of his viewpoints and applied it to just about every "system" out there ... and to be honest have yet to see any Craps theory or advice that comes close to the work of genius that is The Dice Doctor. Sam himself declares Craps is a beatable game and I tend to agree. It comes down to Bank Roll Management, Session Management and Progressive Aggressive betting.

“To me, the crap game is, and always has been a highly over-rated challenge. I never did, and still don’t accept that in the long run, the House will grind you out. Granted they have an edge, but if a crapshooter can show a winning batting average over a period of time lasting many years, then don’t tell me it’s a written guarantee you MUST lose your money.”

I look forward to writing and debating Craps on here. Unlike Poker, it is not a strategy game in a sense your decisions win or lose you money. However - Craps is very much a gambling game, that requires a higher level of BANK ROLL STRATEGY - where if done right your bank roll can be at worst exposed to a 1% house edge and with strong progressive betting - taking odds and working parlays - less than a .2% house edge.

I do not sell any services or books - rather Mr. Grafstein's estate make all the money off my book shill as I have profited a great deal at the tables. My website is www.dicedoctor.info and I look forward to contributing here.

I played craps in Las Vegas with Sam in the early 1990s when my first gambling book came out. When we played he was mostly a don't bettor, never eager to jump in. He had discipline. Before I met him I thought he'd be a cantankerous fellow based on the tone of his book (a book that I enjoyed reading). I have a section about him in my new book I Am a Dice Controller: Inside the World of Advantage Play Craps. I will not sell copies of the book to members of this forum. I'll give them as gifts while my supply lasts. The book will be out around May 1st. I do recommend Sam's book.

Thanks Frank, yes I believe Sam passed in 1993 and my understanding was he went table to table - while betting don't ... looking for a monster. Cantankerous would be an apt description.
