The press release gave an account of 2020’s performance and its impact on the industry. Unfortunately, it was not a good year for many businesses including the American Gambling Industry... when COVID infections were raging and casinos were mandated to close.

The bottom line ...the gaming revenue was down 31% for 2020, although the 4th quarter showed an improvement from the previous 3rd quarter. Perhaps a good sign that gaming is gaining momentum as COVID infections are beginning to subside.

Press release quote highlighting the impact: "The impact of COVID-19 on the casino industry extends beyond gaming revenue. Live entertainment, tourism, and meetings and conventions — which make up more than half of casino resort revenue in tourist destinations like the Las Vegas Strip — all came to a standstill in 2020 and are only now starting to open. " ..
