    The evolution of dice.

A California University, Davis study reveals dice have been around for centuries.

The early ancient dice were crude, lopsided and of different shapes, sizes, made from various materials; metal, clay, bone, antler or ivory.

During Ancient Roman times, dice players were often influenced by 'supernatural' views …. where fate and beliefs were thought to bring out the desired results. The divine power of the players was their magic. Unbalanced, biased dice and probability were far from realization.

Clearly, this study highlights the early beginnings and the changes through time. “People like Galileo and Blaise Pascal were developing ideas about chance and probability, and we know from written records in some cases they were actually consulting with gamblers,…” (quote from article by Annie Palmer for DailyMail.com)

Even in today's environment, some players say unfair (unbalanced) dice can still be found in some casinos.

In addition, there are players who believe they have the ability to influence the dice outcome through carefully controlled tosses.

Probability also plays a major part in today's gambler, however, there are some that will tempt destiny with riskier wagers.

Obviously, chance and the dice has changed much over the years, however relying on the dice to determine one's fate can be a slippery slope, and perilous.

Fortunately, the dice changes were a good thing, creating some of the best casino craps betting values in today's world.
