My name is Kat and I've been playing competitive NLH for 6 years now. Prior to that I was an economics teacher in the high school setting (regular and honors classes). In addition, I taught psychology. Before then, I was a full time LPGA golf instructor. I equate a lot of my success in poker to the training I received and gave through the golf game. I believe the two are very similar in their mental game preparation, the stamina use, and the need to prepare 4-5 moves in advance prior to your playing a shot. I am no longer coaching golf but I've played it for over 45 years.

I prefer tournament poker to cash play. I like the idea of playing the "player" instead of the stack. I've had 2 poker coaches, read 15 books on poker so far, taken classes in person and online, and played all over the United States and onboard cruises. I love to learn and watch others play as well as find out how I'm playing through the analysis of others. I'm an inventor at heart and love to play the game. I live in Central Florida and my main poker rooms are Daytona Beach, Jacksonville Best Bet, Ocala, and Tampa. Last year, I had $21,000 in winnings. This year I plan to go to Tunica, Biloxi, Vegas and who knows what else! :)

Great intro, nice to have you hear, be sure and post some hand histories and let everyone weigh in, it could be fun, along with educational.
