"Counting" the various straight outs in Omaha gives most players trouble, especially the new HE players moving over to Omaha.

You don't need to "count" the outs just memorize the KEY Memory Aid.

    Hand: Q J 8 2 Flop: T 9 3
    How many straight outs?

    Key:
    If you hold:
2 above and 1 below, OR 1 above and 2 below the 2 connected cards on board.
You have 17 outs! The (8) is one below the 9T...the (JQ) are two above the 9T!
    Simple!
    7(x4),8(x3),J(x3), Q(x3) K(x4)
=17 Outs (11 Nuts) Try It! Which has 17 outs?
    #1. 7TJ6. Flop: 389
    #2. 9TAK Flop: JQ4
