    Hi Folks,
I am new to this forum and I would like to hear your tips and tricks at narrowing your numbers to be played in lotteries. I myself play a pick 6/45 with 2 bonus numbers.

Hi there! Here’s a math-based approach for choosing the best combinations in a 6/45 lottery game.

There are two options to do this. One is to do the computations yourself and the other is to let Lotterycodex take care of all complicated mathematical calculations.

In a lottery game like 6/45, there are 8,145,060 possible combinations. One combination gives a winning probability of 1 in 8,145,060. Two combinations offer an increased winning probability of 2 in 8,145,060.

Some would argue that buying more combinations will not really make a difference since the odds of winning is still very low. However, choosing the best out of the millions of combinations could give you more exciting games.

Choose the most favorable combinations so you can be closer to the jackpot with more winning opportunities and fewer losses. To do this, you must look beyond the winning probability of combinations. You need to apply probability theory with combinatorics to choose the most favorable combinations.

    1. DIY computations

In this game, the numbers are 1 to 45. These numbers could be odd or even and low or high. Through combinatorial mathematics, we can categorize the combinations according to their odd-even and low-high compositions.

1-2-3-4-5-6, for example, contains 3 odd and 3 even numbers. This combinatorial pattern offers 2,727,340 ways to win. Using the formula for winning odds [number of favorable combinations/(total combinations-favorable combinations)], you’d know the ratio of success to failure from using this combination.

With an odd-even ratio of 1 to 2, you might have one opportunity to match the winning combination’s odd-even pattern every 3 attempts. In 6/45, the 3-odd-3-even pattern offers the best ratio of success to failure. However, this is just for the odd-even composition.

Do not forget that a combination also has a low-high composition and ratio. 1-2-3-4-5-6 contains all 6 low numbers. This 6-low pattern offers 100,947 ways to win so the ratio is 1 to 80.

It could mean that your opportunity to match the winning combination’s low-high pattern might come after 81 attempts. This is among the worst patterns in a 6/45 draw game.

The odd-even and low-high ratios of 1-2-3-4-5-6 contradict one another. It suggests that this combination might only be a waste of your time and money. You are likely to lose whenever you play using this combination.

Whenever you encounter combinations with contradicting and/or poor ratios, take it as a hint to look for other more advantageous combinations. This manual or DIY option is possible, but repetitive and painstaking. You need to re-do the steps for every new combination you will create and stop only when you have one with best odd-even and low-high ratios.

It requires math skills, patience and attentiveness. If it is not your preference or skill set, then the second option will greatly help.

    2. Using Lotterycodex

This tool is a combination of a lottery wheel and an odds calculator. Think of any number you like to use. You could even include the hot and cold numbers from past draw statistics.

Lotterycodex will create all the possible combinations with your number choices. Based on the combinatorial pattern of each combination, Lotterycodex could tell you if it is the best, good, bad or worst to use when playing in 6/45 draws. Based on these options, pick the best choices and make the best decisions as a smart and responsible lottery player.

A combination with 2 low-odd, 1 low-even and 3 high-odd numbers has a ratio of 1 to 68. You have only one winning shot in 100 draws with this combination.

Another combination has 3 low-odd, 1 low-even and 2 high-odd numbers and its ratio is 1 to 60. It offers 2 winning shots in 100 draws.

Using the second combination is a good decision since it offers more winning opportunities and fewer chances of losing. This is just a sample scenario. With Lotterycodex, it is quick and easy to make the best decisions since it can readily tell the combinations with best ratio.

The information it provides can help you in developing a timing strategy for playing. For example, the best Lotterycodex pattern could appear every (roughly) 19 draws. A pattern (regardless if it is best, middle or worst) is unlikely to appear in consecutive draws.

Therefore, you may not play until the 17th-21st draw since the best pattern’s last occurrence. During these skipped draws, save your money so you can buy more tickets when you play again on the next most opportune draw. This will increase your winning chances.

    Hope this helps!
