Horse Racing What makes a good handicapping thread

    I think learning from other peoples mistakes is informative.
    For example

    one person posts
    : I bet horse X on track "Y" 3rd race on saturday. The horse was the speed of the speed and looked the best out of the 9 horses.
    It has the best first quarter times, best beyer by far, and a hot jockey "k". It came in 4th.

    Then another person posts in response. Your horse was in the post "1" position. and never ran at that track before. Its a tricky post and is often dead for speed for track"Y". I rarely bet speed from that post at that track. and joackey "K" is notoriously poor with maidens....and this was a maiden race.

    so we learn something going forward from the exchange

    for me that is the best type of thread and exchange.

    But from the posts I see on the sports betting threads...alot of people on here like to post things like "go cubs"....rather than post what bettors are interested about.
