It is that time of year again, the Cutting Edge Table Games Conference, November 9 – 11, 2015 http://www.tablegamesconf.com/

This is the conference that all of the casino gaming security attend. You got Bill Zendar and Eliot Jacobson there who are probably the #1 Independent Game Security guys in the world.

Interesting to note that Craps is not an agenda item, nor it is it covered in any of the seminars. Why is that? With these DI's (Dice Influencers) jumping up and down insisting that the DI method is indeed Advantage Play, then logically we would expect that the gaming security conferences to cover the topic of Dice Influence - however this is apparently NOT THE CASE AT ALL.

    Why is that?

    Here is the scoop -

When the dice hit the diamond backwall of the craps table, they come off it totally randomized. Casinos and consultants have reviewed thousands of hours of DI shooting, built DI shooting arms to simulate a DI toss and have found that any on-axis toss that survives the initial table bounce will not survive the hitting of the backwall. Now, dice that fail to hit the backwall or fail to bounce off the rubber diamond will most likely stay on axis and give the shooter the advantage they are looking for, however casinos are now quick to call such tosses 'No roll' and warn the shooter to hit the backwall with sufficiant force. Failure to do such and repeated tosses that fail to hit the backwall sufficiently will absolutely result in the minimum of being terminated as a shooter and not getting to shoot while at that table. In the extreme situations shooters who persist to short throw the dice have been asked to leave a casino, and some have been read the trespassing notice meaning if they show up again they will be detained and prosecuted for criminal trespassing.

However, there are good reasons as to why you want to have a controlled shot and the biggest one is so your roll does not crash in to the chips out on the table as bets! Nothing like a wild roll that goes though the place and come bets to totally scatter the best here and there, and that greatly delays the game while the dealers figure out who was on what bet, then has to pay them! A controlled shot can land the dice consistently in a non-chip area of the table and away from the bets while still hitting the backwall sufficiently.

A controlled toss rarely goes off the table, and the dice often land in a way that makes it easy for the stickman to gather up the dice quickly.

And, a controlled toss is an art form. I think that players appreciate the effort to toss the dice with such a mindfull skill, it shows your dedication and mastery of the game.

I believe most of the hype on dice shooting influencing is over … sensible reality has replaced the euphoria along with the paranoia. However, there are a few casinos that still sweat the dice influencer.

Bottom line …. Casinos have the upper hand, it’s their equipment, it’s their rules and they have the mathematical edge. Plus they have learned that Dice Influencing is more random than controlled shooting.

Although it sounds like bad news, but in reality… it is good news. I feel there are many times when I see influence in action.

Taking a quote out of the book … Get the edge at Craps How to control the Dice! by Sharpshooter…. “ Can you control the bones 100 percent? …No, but with the proper methodology and a fair amount of practice, you certainly can influence the dice 10 or 12 percent! …

Although I believe the 10 or 12 percent is still high, at least for me…. but there are days when I swear I see sparks of influence, and then there are the days when I can tie the record for the worlds shortest hands …“Point Seven.”

With so many variables at our disposal and one of my favorites … be the house (casino) shoot from the DON’T.

Casinos believe that only short rolls that do not hit the backwall can be influenced
