My favorite film may be BladeRunner. I have a soft spot for a 1960 or '61 monster film called Gorgo. I love how it ends. Another guilty pleasure: Dirty Harry. That was analyzed in a film class, so I have a greater appreciation of the imagery and metaphors.

I'll never forget seeing the original "Fantasia" in college while tripping on acid.

1)is there any movie that you were surprised how much you liked it even though reviews were not great.....
    2) a movie that you saw a second time and like it alot more.
3)And is there any actor you saw in a very early movie where you said...this guy is going to be a star.

1-Dancer in the Dark....on the big screen, impressed me despite negative reviews
2-The King of comedy--Liked it more each time I see it.
    3-Turturro- Millers Crossing

Psychedelics were nearly a rite of passage for white college kids in '71-'72.

    Dabbled, learned, moved on.

    Never touched em since.

In terms of impact on me at the age when I first viewed them:

    Godzilla (the original)

    The Longest Day

    Alien

    Apocalypse Now

    Avatar

Hard to be a god (perhaps the best movie I've ever seen)

    when it comes to" impact"

    Deliverance
imagine a naive teen in the early 70s, with obviously no internet available to soften the blow. I looked at that scene and said to myself WTF....and it haunted me.I still think about it now and cringe.
