"Crimm!!!! Hey, Crimm!!!"

I was laying in my bunk reading Exodus by Leon Uris. They had caught me drunk over in Phenix City again. And, of course, late for duty again. So I was back in the Fort Benning Stockade again. But this time they were hitting me with a Special Court Martial. That meant I could wind up in the Army Rehabilitation Barracks in Fort Riley, Kansas. I was 21 years old.

I got up and walked through the pod to the bars. There was a full bird Colonel standing there surrounded by his minions, a bunch of Captains and Lieutenants all giving me the evil eye. But the bird Colonel was cool.

"Mr. Crimm" he said.
"Yes, Sir?"
"They say you are the best typist in this man's Army."
"They also say I'm a drunk, Sir."
"Well, you can't get drunk while you are our guest here, can you?"
"No, sir."
"We need your help, son."
"What for, Sir?"
"They say you can type 65 words a minute with no errors."
"Eighty on an electric, Sir."
"Crimm, we have a prisoner here. He's actually not in the stockade anymore. Nixon ordered us to get him out of the stockade and confine him to quarters."
"Rusty Calley? My Lai Massacre?"
"That's right, son. Lieutenant William F. Calley. He's a political hot potato. There's all this correspondence going on between the White House, the Pentagon and us. They want the answers in writing and they want it now. And all I've got is a bunch of idiot typists that can't even do 20 words a minute. So I'm here to ask for your help."
"You want me to type all of Calley's stuff?"
"That's right, son. But we are not going to give you any special treatment. Will you help us?
"No, problem, Sir. I'll be glad to do it."
"Thanks, son. Starting tomorrow morning you'll be going outside the walls everyday to the detail shack. "

The colonel turned and walked away. His minions followed him.

"Get him an electric!" he said to his minions as he rounded the corner.

 

The funny thing is the furor over KJ. Its so hypocritical of the munchkins.
The munchkins stood on the side when me, B9, 1bb and others were nuked...just for being on the wrong side of certain issues.
And now KJ is on the wrong side of an issue(the wrong side of a customer service managers love for QFIT) AND HE WAS NUKED.

All of a sudden people proclaim...why was KJ nuked....we liked his posts. Well munchkins, you sat by while customers were being treated like crap...customers you ddnt like. Now you cry foul because someone you liked was treated in a poor manner for being on the wrong side of an issue with QFIT. ..you know QFIT who was warned by beached whale to cease his moaning, but decided to ignore her and keep going for 50 more posts.

Now all of a sudden people are starting to post that they are losing too many "good" people.

After I have been [pointing out the substantial decrease in member visits for months and months.,,they now are crying for change.

aND AXEL thinks the dude bluechow was rightfully banned because he just knew bluechow was a troublmeaker. Even before bluechow could do anything offensive......axel was a clairvoyant
Its seems according to axel, certain people on certain topics need to do research first before asking their question and if they dont...punishment is the answer.

Nevermind that just about every question asked on that site has some sort of answer somewhere in the archives....that is researchable.

So I guess anyone who asks a question needs to research it first, or risk getting baited into a suspension by being told that they are being watched by management while munchkins like axel applaude.

Manboy suspended himself for 3 days for "violating my own rule against relaying messages from banned members". Talk about craving attention. Has this guy got Alzheimers or something?

The thing is there is no such rule. No rule even comes close. He made it up so he could stay in the spotlight. Notice his name isn't in red. No shame for him.

Actually just speaking for myself, after over 35 years in the health profession, with salary and 401k matching.....I would not want to take a step down and switch my net worth for his. Not bragging, I am just addressing the ignorant comment.

But I AM jealous of "mike" for other reasons...some of which are
1-he rides a unicycle and juggles like a clown.
2-his total social acceptance(or was it) by a canyoneering group
3-He claims he hates when valentines day falls on a weekend because then he has to deal with finding something fun for both the wife and kids to do.
4-he feels the need to suspend to put salve on his bad moods
5-he feels its worthwhile to pose with half naked women as if its some sort of accomplishment when he also posts it.
6-he gets joy from watching people vomit chicken nuggets
7- he gets in "the doghouse" because he refuses to give in to the valentines day gift giving
8-he met with the juicee woman member....knowing from many of her upfront posts what she was after in life
9-he has the balls to keep a post up asking for donations while a multimillion dollar deal is being negotiated.

THOSE are the things I am jealous of. Not so much his money though. But nice try.

 

When Mickey posted over there they all thought it was funny. Oh he's just being Mickey...he's harmless...it's the booze talking.... we'll fix his posts for him.

Well guess what? He's still being Mickey...they just don't like what he's saying and they don't like that they can't control him.

That makes them the biggest hypocrites of all.

 

P.S. MrV, if you think Phenix City is a typo then google Phenix City, Alabama.

 

Mickey internet threatened to kill Singer, and others in person, likely, long before Shackleford. Mendelson called the LA cops on him.

 

Phenix City was a notorious town in its day. Booze, drugs, gambling, prostitution. They catered to the soldiers at Fort Benning just across the Chatahoochee River.

When Patton was the commander at Benning he threatened to roll tanks over Phenix City if they didn't quit rolling his soldiers.

It certainly does look like the number of logged-on registered members who visit the WoV every day has gone down, but I doubt that is of great concern to the owner.

He probably is more concerned about the total number of views, i.e. registered and non-registered (lurker) folk who visit, as well as people like me who are registered but opt not to have their visits noted and reported on the daily total.

I wonder whether the total number of views from all of the above has also decreased, and if so, how much?

Is there a way to publicly check statistics in order to compare current numbers to earlier numbers of daily views from all sources?

 

I'll tell you what. This board is getting more traffic. This thread will hit 1000 posts very soon and some WOV members have played a part in that. Too many to mention but Ibeatyouraces has been at the forefront all the way. He mentions us dozens of times, promotes us and has even suggested that some from WOV should join us.

At first he did it cautiously, becoming bolder as time went on. Let's reward him for all his hard work. Come on over, Ibeatyouraces, and we'll reserve post 1000 just for you. You can regale us with your royal flush hits. Maybe tell how we too can go to Detroit and hit a royal every day.

If you are already here give us a hint. Thanks again for promoting this site. Now hurry and delete those incriminating posts. Oops. Sorry....have a former best friend hack you. Wink wink.

 

someone already made those excuses. It seems that if you count the actual names listed you generally find 5-10 percent less than the number that is listed. So if there are 100 names listed, the number on the top is around 110. We were supposing that the difference is the invisible members. It seems that the computer count does count the invisible members in its daily grand total....but just doesnt list the names...or else why would there be a difference in the physical count of names and the grand total listing.

yes we can all delude ourselves into thinking that the regulars are dropping like flies, but the lurker non members are flooding in.

but here's what i don't get. instead of you guys only pointing out all the defects of the other site and cheering for it to go down in flames, why not also focus some of that energy on making this place better than the other site with more posts and juicier gambling discussions?

i, for one, would love to read more posts from experienced people on any gambling topics here, but all i ever see is unrelated posts in the lounge.

it gives those of us with no skin in this game the impression that you guys don't actually know how to create a better community, so you take the easy road and just bitch about the other site instead.

how do i make my ex-girlfriend jealous? by dating a hotter woman and having a better relationship and life with her than i did with that whore. why don't you guys do the same?

i'm not saying don't bitch about your ex, because i love doing that myself. i'm saying do that, but also date a hotter chick and have a better life with her because that's the best way to get back at your ex and let her see what she's missing. you feel me?

 

I agree with you mike and thanks for stepping up/ I would love to contribute but to be honest it looks like just disgruntled people bitching about the other fourm

 

but that's not a reason not to contribute. this place has over 1000 members now apparently, some that are very famous in the gambling world, and it's only a small handful of members who seem to be disgruntled. this looks like a perfect example of the squeaky wheel gets the grease. so unless the rest of us start adding grease to the other wheels, the only wheel that will get grease is this hate train. and it doesn't look like anything is going to stop this hate train, so we can either let it run over this site, or start building other tracks for happier trains. again, not bashing the passengers on this hate train as i have no experience with the other site so i don't know what happened there and they could very well be justified in feeling disgruntled and wanting everyone to know what happened. i'm just saying this site doesn't just have to be about this hate train, and it is what we make of it since the admins don't seem to be much involved.

 

This thread is about the topic listed. If there is a thirst for a thread titled "how to make this website better".......go for it man. bUt dont try to hijack a thread about a different topic that happens to be very popular to further an agenda.

I have posted to the admin, and made a deal weeks ago, that if he stopped furnishing the sports betting section with posts from other sites that no one viewed...I would start posting there to drive local interest. So mission accomplished...the views have been up in that section with me and others really posting. So yes I do post elsewhere and try to bring value to this site other than post on this thread.

Sports betting is my main game, so I have nothing to offer for blckjack or craps etc.

But this thread is.............what this thread is.

A new thread of "How to make this site better" might get some action since alot of people now come to the "Lounge". In fact because of this thread, alot of people are coming here to this site in general.

If we took your advice, and stopped bitching about our "ex"......this thread would have ended in a month, and the new influx of members would not have occured.

This thread strikes a chord with people....which means there is alot of truth here. If this thread was just nonsensical bitching, it would never have received all the repeat views of people that kept coming back. If this thread was nothing more than name calling...it would die the death of threads that have no meat on the bones. There obviously is something very topical about this thread.....with new events at wov stoking the flames...and the posts keep up with the new events....keeping this up to date and topical.

This thread got so much attention that KewlJ came here to give his farewell. Not bad...huh?...

I think your idea is fine,...so just do it....

In a way this thread can be helpful to management of this site, showing them how their customers like to be treated, how not to treat us, and who not to put in charge of customer service. Alot can be learned by management of any message board here on needs of customers.

 

The sites that estimate traffic do not tell the story of mismanagement. They do not tell you what the site would have had in views if management maximized the sites potential. Like in any business....todays numbers being up does not tell the entire story. The question is in any business is...what should todays numbers be...compared to what they are.

If you own a mom and pop store, and have an employee that gives lousy customer service.....and you bring it to that persons attention.....the answer back should not be....well you are making more money than last year so whats the complaint.
