Feedback Designated Unrestricted Areas of the site

Hi Folks,

Following up on this clarification post and for the sake of transparency so that it is clear to all members, we wanted to list the Designated Unrestricted Areas (DUA) of our site where we will be more lenient with the enforcement of our rules.

Designated Unrestricted Areas of the site:

• Personal Feuds forum (entire section)
• Off-topic Graveyard (entire section)
• Insults Graveyard (entire section)
• Chat Room thread
• WOV thread
• VCT thread

The specific rules we will not enforce as strictly in the DUAs are the following 3 rules:

1. Be Respectful.
All members must be polite, civil, and respectful at all times. No exceptions. If you are personally attacked and respond with a personal attack, both of you will be sanctioned. Report personal attacks soon after they happen and the Admin Team will take care of it.

2. No Disruptive Behavior
Do not flood the forums with posts, do not bump your own threads, do not troll other members, do not behave in a disruptive manner, and do not post unprofessional profile posts.

7. No Off-topic Posting
Do not discuss matters irrelevant to the thread at hand. Instead, create a new thread for off-topic matters. Off-topic posts may be moved to the Off-topic Graveyard.​

This does not mean we will not enforce the above rules at all in the DUA, it simply means the violation has to be much more egregious in order for offending posts to be sanctioned. For example, calling another member an "idiot" will not be sanctioned in the DUAs, but racist insults will still be sanctioned. So the DUAs are not unrestricted in the absolute literal sense.

Furthermore, all other rules still fully apply in the DUAs.

The purpose of the DUAs is to contain all the vitriol in those areas since those are the areas where the vast majority of baggage from outside of this site is brought in. The purpose of designating those areas is so that members have an area to blow off steam so that the vitriol and outside baggage doesn't metastasize elsewhere on the site

Our full site rules apply in all threads and posts outside of those Designated Unrestricted Areas above.

Remember that we do not read the majority of posts on the site, so please remember to report offending posts outside of the DUA so that we can take swift action.
