Here's a hint: I still love the muscle cars of today as well as the cars I loved as a teenager. That's why I don't need to read about or live in the past--I have one of each: the '17 HPE 1000 Hennessy Hellcat Charger; and the '69 AMC SC/Rambler that I've shown at Hot August Nights in Reno a couple times.

If you can afford to, send me one of your books. I'll read it and give it a review. People listen to Rob Singer.

We were discussing Hellcats vs. alleged 2023 Super Chargers the other day at lunch. I don't know much about muscle cars, but my compadres know a fair amount. One of them, also an author in the book, just bought a new Challenger two weeks ago, 300-some horsepower. He said he wasn't looking to break any records; he just wanted a nice conservative American car. He also owns a vintage Porsche. He was surprised that he got 30K trading in his pickup. I'm surprised, too. The other guy has a two-year-old Charger -- beautiful dark blue. They were discussing the end of the line in 2023 for Chargers and Challengers.

We had been egging these guys that true aficionados wouldn't wait until 2023 to buy "final models," but would pull the trigger in 2022. So one guy did.

I hear some monster final limited edition Charger is supposed to pack 650 horsepower. Not sure what you do with that; that's an Evel Knievel car. Also heard that Hellcats were going for 60K to 80K these days, which isn't bad.

Mine is kind of old now. When I got it I had the dealer send it to Hennessy for the upgrade before I actually drove it. I'm not a fast driver at all unless and until I find myself the only one on the road. Then I open it up if feasible. I only got it because of my interest. Very few know what HPE 1000 means.

By the way: DO NOT bet the under (38) on this game. The offenses stink, but the defenses smell up the joint.

To the tune of Kenny Roger's "The Gambler" --

    On a cool autumn evening,
On an Amtrak bound for Vegas
I met up with a gambler.
We were both too tired to sleep.
    So we took turns a'starin'
Out the windows at the sand dunes,
    'Til boredom overtook us,
    And he began to speak.

He said, "Son, I've made a life
    Out of handicapping football.
Knowin' what my teams would be,
    Before the lines came out.
So if you don't mind my sayin'
I can see you're out of winners.
    I'll trade you some whiskey
    For advice you'll never doubt."

So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow.
Then he took my USA Today
And turned on the overhead light.
    The night got deathly quiet
And his face lost all expression.
He said, "If you're gonna bet the teams, boy,
You gotta learn to bet 'em right."

You gotta know how to bet 'em.
    Know how to sweat 'em.
Know when to scream and shout,
    Know when to sigh.
    You never count your money
'Til those blind men in the striped shirts
    Decide the game is over
And shoot that into the sky.

    A football isn't round.
    It takes some funny bounces
    No one can predict fumbles
    Flags or injuries.
So don't go and bet your life
    On any single game, boy
Or you'll find out there are worse things
    Than total bankruptcy.

There is one kind of loss
That's worse than all the others.
    You have a four-point underdog
    That trails by only three.
As time runs off the clock,
They kick the tying field goal,
And then lose by a touchdown
When the game goes to OT.

You gotta know how to bet 'em,
    Know how to sweat 'em.
Know when to curse and shout,
    Know when to sigh.
You don't ever, ever count your money
'Til the blind men in the striped shirts
    Decide the game is over
And shoot that gun into the sky.

    That was weird.

I lost the game along with a hundred bucks, and my "advice" wasn't good either.

    I can only go up!

If you win your next 10 in a row, you'll almost be on schedule for 68% ATS.

    Best of luck.

Yep, just seven more and you're on your way.

I needed the Bengals and Colts more than you did, as it turns out. Be sure to check in for updates in the Obscure NFL Contest thread in sports. It's possible somebody might be leading the whole shebang. Now I'm not saying who, mind you. But check in Tuesday afternoon for an update.

Huh? I took a look and it's more of the same. You make some claim without ever posting your picks before games are played.

I finished 20-2 in last year's NFL Top Gun contest. This can be absolutely confirmed.

What's wrong with having 68% as a goal?

BTW, redeitz. I thought you and KJ said you ran Singer out of the forums? WTF?

I didn't say anything like that. You do realize that you tend to conflate KewlJ and me on a regular basis? Please don't fantasize about me. I'm the straight one.

As to the NFL Top Gun contest Singer mentions, whatever it is, obviously it's not ATS. Anybody can go 20-2 in a contest without spreads. People go on 12 and 13 game runs in Last Man Standing contests all the time.

Mr. Singer doesn't seem to grasp how these contests work. You put in your plays, the plays are on the site, and the results post Tuesday, usually. With NorthBet, the results post as soon as games conclude.

Since these are season-long contests, it doesn't matter if you did great one week. You must keep doing well week after week to have a chance to win.

Mickey, the problem with having 68% as a goal is it's silly. It's like me saying my goal is to run a three minute mile. Nothing wrong with it; it's just stupid blather.

And that wasn't my issue with Singer. My issue was his claim that he won 68% ATS picking five NFL sides for two years, and that those results were on the LVA forum. Just stupid, blatant lies that insult anyone who knows anything about NFL handicapping.

One of those years was just over 70% stand-alone red. It happens.

You and kew want me gone from forums? Hahaha! Have you geniuses taken a look at VCT since I quit? It's so sad that it's got that idiot accountingquestion going out of his mind trying to find threads to give his useless life some meaning! How about here....are you catching on yet? And how often do we hear about the huge decline of WoV? Guess how it would be if I showed up again.

I do realize how horrific it must be for spectators to have to endure someone else's gambling successes, especially when a few of them are GINORMOUS and how they may not always be copesthetic with how the AP approach is. But even though my wins have spawned a ton of copious and sometimes desperate, silly lies from several envious souls, none of the nonsense has had any effect on the truth or how we live in our retirement.

Chew on it guys....and cheer for my pick tonight!

You got that, mickey? Rob had a 70% ATS NFL year picking five sides a week versus the spread. And 68% ATS for two years combined, picking five NFL sides a week.

    Just two problems with that:

    1) Nobody, in all of the public handicapping contests -- Circa, SuperBook, and so on, has ever done it, or come close to doing it. Thousands of people over decades, nobody has ever cracked 68% ATS taking five sides a week in the NFL for two years.

    2) Problem Number Two: No record of any such thing being done by a Mr. Rob Singer at LVA forums.

Other than that, I have no reason to disbelieve him. That's why I refer to him with great admiration as "The 68% ATS Man."

I ran a three minute mile 10 years ago. I'm sure somebody timed me. I just can't find the videotape.

And I aspire to do it again. That's my goal. In fact, I am going to try to run a three minute mile tonight after the game. I'll report back here.

Red, you're doing it again. You're claiming something about someone else with no supporting evidence. I accept that I can't go back and find the 2 years where I made 68% ATS picking--and betting--5 NFL games/week. Those picks included Overs & Unders BTW, and it included the playoffs to some extent. But you're getting nowhere saying it wasn't done because "it's not supported as that on LVA Sports forum" or something to that effect.

Why don't you just tell the truth without the spin---you don't know what years to look for IF you could even locate them. Claiming it can't be accomplished and hasn't ever been done as a reason for my haven't succeeded in doing it, is disingenuous and a bad lie at best.

Again, root for me to win tonight. You'll feel a whole lot better.

Mickey, please link to where I said I ran Singer off the forums?

The fact is Singer ran himself off VCT when he tried to "punk" Dan Druff with his BS and renegged on a meetup to show proof of his ridiculous claims same way he tried to "punk" Maxpen several weeks prior. That is all Singer has left now is to set up a meeting to show proof and then not show. WoW, that is funny....NOT. Having done this to Dan Druff, all that was left for the "great Rob Singer" was to slink away with is tail between his legs to this forum and call Druff names, like the little girl that Singer is. That is all he is ever about.....calling people names.

Don't you ever get tired of this shit and stirring the pot Mickey? The fact is you are a legitimate, AP (doing things I can only dream of) and everyone recognizes that. While my blackjack AP play is very elementary compared to wat you do, I have shared enough of what I do and even how I do it and stay able to keep doing it, along with sharing both the winning and losing that I go through, that I am confident that you and everyone else with half a brain, also recognizes that I am legitimate.

Which brings us to your buddy Rob Singer. What has he ever done or shared that would lead anyone to believe anything he says?

First, he claimed a winning strategy based on progressive wagering. Progressive wagering does not turn -EV to +EV, with or without less optimal "special plays". He claimed winnings of over a million dollars from that (initially).

Next the Newell claim. He claimed to have bought a million dollar plus Newell RV with that money. Give me a break. There was no money won from progression wagering and there was no Newell. Although he later posted pictures in a Newell at the dealership 7 miles from his home.

Next he stole the double up bug claim from the news and Nester and Kane, claiming he did it before them to the tune of 3 million dollars. Of course, he had to change all his timelines to accommodate this new claim and change the Newell story as being bought from those winnings.

More recently, He pre-announced that he was going to him a 6 figure jackpot on a high denomination, multi-play machine and low and behold 3 weeks later posted a picture of just such a hit. Of course that picture and the stacks of movie prop cash purchased from Amazon have since been completely debunked.

Singer has humiliated himself. I had nothing to do with it.

Now Mickey, don't you get tired of being his wingman and going along with this make-believe nonsense that you KNOW is baloney? I mean seriously dude.

I know the folks at LVA a little better than Rob, methinks. I was, after all, the guy who was booted from the office and told they'd call metro on me after their old webmaster and I got into it in the LVA office.

Then LVA and I kissed and made up. The webmaster didn't last long there.

There is no evidence of any 68% ATS Rob Singer two-year NFL ATS streak. Rob, if you want to go to the LVA office with me to verify this, that would be great. I haven't met the new webmaster in person.

Barring that, after the season, I'll do a video of me searching for Rob's 68% ATS claim by visiting the LVA offices. It'll be like searching for Bigfoot. I can discuss Rob's reputation in the video poker and gambling industry with LVA staff while we search for the 68%.
