Just because a large business owns smaller businesses does not mean customers at the smaller business do not deserve to be and feel "valued"...do not deserve to be treated fairly.
The fact that a business is much smaller than the giant business is not reason for people to feel inferior service is acceptable.

At one time the company that owned CVS pharmacies was Mellville Corp. They also owend KB Toys and Thom Mcann shoes. Their meat and potatoes was the pharmacies. Does that mean that if someone walked intothe shoe store they could get horrible customer service, and be happy to accept the reason being is that the Pharmacies are more important to the bottom line.

THAT reasoning is bogus, Its a non starter.

If you open your doors....you treat people as valued customers. Even if they dont help you generate as much money as you like.

If you cant treat people as they deserve to be treated because you feel you just dont make enough money from them....then just close that part of the business.

But once you open your doors.......I expect to be treated well......and I expect my neighbors to be treated well.

Even if the population of posters bring in 5 dollars a week for management to eventually pocket. Well if that 5 dollars is insignificant....then close up the boards. But it seems the boards have some value to management because they are still there.

If management thought the boards were totally useless..they would have the manboy spending his time totally to increase traffic through his articles and videos....rather than spinning his wheels in a useless department. Obviously the message board department has some value just by the fact that it still exists and they are devoting payroll dollars to its upkeep by paying part of the manboys salary going to his monitor duties there

Actually I can see how he can be there since he has "some" say in what happens even if he is over ruled at times. But he rules the board on his end, as a well balanced person would. No agenda, no need to punish or "shame", no need to punish in order to makes is "bad day" better.
He doesnt have a 'gotcha" bone in his body. So he can stay and actually make a difference on how people are treated as long as he isnt stepped on.
He can see how my neighbors are mistreated and he can do his best to not mistreat them. He is in a very different position than the people who stay and dont say a word. Or have stayed and not said a word until KJ.
Yes tons of people have walked away. And I wonder why the remaining people stay.

But I dont wonder why a decent mod would stay. He actually can give good customer service. He is in that position. Good for him.

Bozzie called me 1bb and then called 1bb an asshole in an obvious attempt to please master sHACKleford. So Bozzie called me an asshole. That didn't get him very far did it? I won't address the 1bb thing every time someone brings it up. I've been called worse.

The behavior of mods/management that got Boz suspended, and KJ banned was behavior pointed out by me for the last year right here on this board.

Shackleford runs it like a clubhouse that exists in his living room....rather than a business. So now some people are wondering why their neighbors are being treated like shit. Hey guys, its always been that way. You painted me with the broad brush of someone who was moaning about me me me. Never was that the case. Its always been 95 percent about my neighbors with my personal experience thrown in at times.
However its been in the past, neighbors that you didnt care about or didnt like. Well now its come around to people you like and NOW all of a sudden you cry foul.
The horse is already out of the barn. By keeping quiet in the past, you gave manboy the keys to running the customer service portion of the site with disdain for its inhabitants. And mods follow the leader. He sets the example and most of them follow their leader.

Now you speak up and expect change???? Yeah right, Your silence in the past when me, BB1, B9 and others were treated similarly allowed KJ and Boz to be treated like they have been NOW

You devote time, and expertise to the site for free and you are viewed as excrement, as leeches as a fungus ....you only take value and dont give value in return. Its "mikes place"...you are lucky he lets you enter. And you bow and grovel, and walk on eggshells because you have no backbone to proclaim that you should be treated like a valued customer/contributer. You dont demand to be treated fairly. So this is what you get.
You get people who are already socially backward,, and damaged......with the go ahead to treat you like shit. BECAUSE YOU HAVE GIVEN THEM THE 'GO AHEAD' TO DO IT.....YOU ALLOWED IT.

 

I just put up a post telling them to put up or shut up: if they don't like it, go on strike.

Tell mgt. they're unhappy, announce requested changes, and don't post til that's addressed.

Look, we're all different people with different personalities and different ways of handling things. This was not near the first time one "overruled" another. Even in cases where we agree something needs to be done, it's not often that there's a consensus on one specific approach. We're different, you know? I can't for the life of me remember the details of this specific incident, but I do remember thinking "Damn. That's a blatant offense of the rules AND the perpetrator is well aware of that." If I'm remembering correctly, it was a suspension worthy scenario with little to no room to argue. But I, as I sometimes do, broke protocol and tried to do things my way, as I prefer to try to interject just enough to snap people out of their passion and take a look around. I find that most sensible folks, once they do that, come around all on their own.

Babs took it differently and acted upon it. It happens. I've been overruled by every mod there, and I've done some overruling of my own. At least when it comes to this, I guess I just don't have much ego invested. It bothered me not a whit.

You can't please everyone all the time. I myself was target with vitriol from WoV to GG about my handling of Crimm's infamous last hurrah. It happens. Sometimes I make a mistake, sometimes you're just not privy to the plan in my head. But life goes on. It's hardly worth losing sleep over.

Good idea, ....encouraging people to leave when you know the philosophy of customer service is "dont let the door hit you in the ass'.

Yes its uncomfortable for some to hear others bring up inconsistencies which makes the manboy squirm. And they certainly dont want that to happen. SO its best those people leave if they dont like it rather than have an uncomfortable conversation about it.

All you folks bringing up things that makes Shakleford uncomfortable........leave and give the socially backward man an ultimatum

Face, getting banned off of WoV didn't bother me one bit. I deserved what I got. I knew it was coming to an end anyway. I can't keep my big mouth shut when I'm drunk. That won't work on WoV. It's my name being on that damn wall of shame that gets me riled up. Now it's time to go have a drink. Haven't had one in a week. I'll try to stay off the internet when I get home tonite. That's how I think when I'm sober. But once I get the whiskey in me, get ten feet tall and bullet proof, all hell is liable to break out. LOL!
