Dancer is an opportunist. When the Revel came with the "Can't Lose" promotion a couple of years ago Dancer contated them and told them bad they were gonna get killed if they didn't take certain games off the floor. He did it for free but in the hopes that he could get a consulting contract with them. I'm sure he used Shack's breakdown of the play on WoV to do it. LOL!

He actually did it because he wanted to run classes there, same difference in that he wanted to prove his expertise and be rewarded with teaching classes.

Dancer told us on vpFREE that he did it to try and get a consulting contract. Those contracts can be fairly lucrative to someone like Dancer. He told us about one casino chain, I can't remember the name, where they payed him $40,000 a year for several years for his consulting services.

No, you are right. I just found his article on consulting for Ameristar. They were paying him $40,000 for about a months work every year. Here's the link.

For some reason I can't get the link to work. In you go to lasvegasadviser.com and going through Dancer's archives the article is dated September 10, 2013 and is called My Life With Ameristar.

Dancer also found some big fat juicy plays in casinos not owned by Ameristar while he was traveling to various locations in the United States.

Dancer has been lambasted over the years by AP's for "the demise of advantage video poker." But I never took that tact. We live in a capitalistic society. Dancer was just cashing in on his knowledge and experience. I just took care of things on my end and never had a problem adjusting to it.

you belong at wov. The typical attitude. As long as it doesnt effect me me me....then its ok to fuck others.
This is the reason the manboy has a mandate to treat customers like shit. Its people like Nothing that has no concern for his neighbors.
The people with no self respect , these timid needy people, stood by.....and then KJ incident comes along....and we hear complaints.
    yeah right

Dancer undoubtedly hurt just about everybody (Mickey excluded). Everyone in Las Vegas suffered ripple effects.

The heyday of video poker was more than 15 years ago. Trying to actually make meaningful money now is virtually impossible. Trying to make consistent low-level money now requires cash back/promo statuses like Dancer's.

Well I am one of those that was kicked off...and yes I did want to be on that board. I think I made that clear with my more than 4 years worth of contributions of better that 3200 posts. So yes, I will admit I wanted to be there and I went out of my way to contribute positively. I even did a
Q & A that was asked of me, as well as blogged about my own AP experiences, sharing a fair amount of detail.

As for something to be proud of....I am proud of my participation on that site. Maybe a little less my participate elsewhere since, but on that site all I ever tried to do was contribute in a positive way, expressing my honest opinions. And I was kicked off that site for expressing my honest opinion. Nothing more nothing less. It just so happens that opinion involved Wizard's personal friend (or at least someone that Wizard holds in high regard. Mike calls him a friend, but I don't think a real friend would have put Mike in that situation). If it wasn't that it was Mike's "friend", there would have been no issue with anything that I said. And almost everyone that has looked at that situation objectively knows and has expressed that.

Mike himself knows that. And worst of all is that he has admitted that privately. But he is just not a big enough man to fix, what he knows was his wrong. So if that "proud comment" insinuates that I have anything to be ashamed of, I don't and I am not ashamed that I was kicked off under these circumstances. I did nothing wrong.

Now, you might counter that this statement wasn't directed at me, that it was directed at Larry and others, but you made a general statement about the people that got kicked off that board and I am part of that now, so I am answering based on my own situation.

Sorry kj you are correct it wasn't meant for you ,as we have spoken about I went to bat for you and felt you were 100 correct, however there are a bunch of people on here that add nothing to this site and quite frankly added nothing to the other board -you know who you are

Redietz, you are pretty much right. 15 to 20 years ago there were huge video poker advantages all over Nevada. Even those that were not all that sharp were making good money. Dancer definitely put then out of business.

One of the adjustments I made in 2007 was I left Nevada. I'm in a well insulated spot now. Even if Dancer tried to influence it he couldn't hurt me.

Yes, I know you talked to both parties involved. I didn't ask you to, but I appreciate that you felt compelled to do so.

If that is what you feel, that the people here add nothing to this site, same as they added nothing at WoV, then can I ask why you are here?
I understand the desire to defend oneself. Hey I have some of that going on. But if you are happy at the WoV site and enjoy the people you are interacting with over there, why come here just to go back and forth. I don't really get that.

Also I want to say something about the other people here's situations. I have said it before, I really am not familiar with anyone else's situation. To be honest I don't recognize many handles of the "banned at WoV" club here. That could be because they used different handles at WoV, or it could be some where before my time, or it could be that I just am not familiar with anyone else's (or very few) situations. Larry holds it against me, that I am not familiar with other's situation and never stuck up for anyone else. That's his prerogative. I am not his lawyer making his case. He's done that and continues to do that. I am making MY case.

But I will say this, I am sure as a site owner and administrator you make some enemies. That probably goes with the territory. But when there is such a large group of people, like this, that feel they were treated unfairly, I think as the site owner/administrator, I would look into that. Maybe reach out to some of these folks and see if there can be any kind of resolution. And if their can't at least take a look at what can be done differently in the future, so that maybe things are handles a little differently, maybe a little fairer, a little more transparent.

One thing that comes to mind is maybe have some of these decisions which are made by one mod or administrator in the heat of the moment, reviewed by some of the other mods that may be in a position to take a more objective look at things. Now that only works if the other mods are really able to voice their opinion and have that opinion matter. If one person really has all the authority, then it really is a little dictatorship and any notion of fairness is nothing more that an illusion. Just like free elections in Russia or Cuba. In my own situation, I happen to know that a couple moderators disagreed with the decision and actions and even voiced it, but their opinion mattered as much as the voter's in Cuba have over the last 50 years. I mean why have additional mods if it is just for show?

I came to defend myself against the crap they were spewing... Mighty Mike asked me to contribute non gambling stuff here and I started to today if you look at other posts. I have no problem contributing as I'm sure you have seen over there. But I'm not going to sit and be bashed by Larry and Freddy who are so scarred they won't even say what their handles are over there..... And contribute nothing here but this nonsense. I respect you and you added a lot which is why I tried to intervene

customer service decisions are made everyday in this world by competent people who are hired to do that work. They dont need to huddle or have the decision reviewed. They operate under customer service guidelines that bring clarity and consistency in a respectful way to customer issues.

Thisisnt rocket science. Just realize that wov is a business. They serve customers. And need to treat people with respect and acknowledge their value. If people cant do that individually...then get someone else. If someone needs to get a second opinion to see if they pissed off a customer...then they are in the wrong job. If it takes someone 7 days to figure out he was wrong and to apologize...then thats the wrong person for a customer service position.

Its very simple. Owners should put people in charge that arent socially backward, with agendas. With clear rules to treat people with respect.
So calling MR V's suggestion garbage by beached whale, or her threatening of Demango would be behaviors that should not be tolerated....and a replacement obtained.
A man that tells boz , that he needed come back.....is not the right person for the job. If he needs to ask if that was proper...he doesnt belong in that particular position

Making customer service decisions for people in that position should be easy and second nature. They need to like people and not be influenced by politics or others social opinions. Thats not their job.
If they need to ask..."was I right to say or do....xxxxxx" then they dont belong in that position.

    totally agree............
he doesn't understand the whole back story here
he thinks we're letting our opinions of Mike Shackleford aka Steve Urkel effect our judgement but that aint the case at all.....

Mike Shackleford aka Steve Urkel has a track record that goes back years and it aint pretty...
