What I am saying is nobody is required to prove anything. Just look at some of the attempts to "prove" things on these forums. Singer tried to prove he won 3 million playing the double up bug by posting a picture in an RV at the dealership. He also produced a bill of sale with no letterhead and all signatures in the same handwriting. Did these episodes prove anything at all?

Now, THIS post would probably be better suited for a discussion somewhere else, maybe in the sports betting section on another forum. I am sure people will call me stupid and every other name, but I don't understand the math involved with sports betting. What exactly makes something +EV? It isn't like blackjack or video poker, or slot machines, where you can point to the math that makes something +EV.

People are claiming things based on past results are +EV. I'll give you several examples. The guy that posts as Half Smoke at VCT (other names on other forums) recently made a post where he analyzed the over 7.5 run wager in baseball. He had results from almost 300 games over 2 years which showed a win percentage of 58%. Does that mean that is a +EV play going forward based on past results?

How about the home team +3.5 lines in football. That has been a winning wager for a number of years now. Is that a +EV wager? How do those past games effect games going forward? I was always taught that past results have no influence on future results with the exception of games played with cards for obvious reasons.

If we are to believe that these plays are now +EV based on past results, by that logic if 7 red comes out 5 times in the last 100 spins at roulette instead of the roughly 3 times it should, is 7 red a +EV bet going forward?

So the math in sports betting isn't clear to me, as it is with other things. People are calling things +EV that don't appear to be to me.
