If you are a long term winner at sports and poker (only you know if that is true or not, even then, some people think they are life time winners, but they really are not, its hard for most people to tell if they dont keep records and or have an income or substantial savings )and you play that 95% of the time when you are playing, and you do this regularly, that would suggest that you are a part time AP.

As long as one plays more positive games and bigger advantages then they do on occasional bad stuff its not the end of the world.

for instance, if you put in a hundred here and there playing a slot, bad VP, craps, 3cp, UTH but you put 500k in action on positive EV stuff then its negligible.

I dont think it would be any diffrent than someone spending money at an arcade, the movies, on drugs, hookers, over priced fancy dinners, fancy toys etc.

 

I only asked him because the tenor of his post was like "Harrumph. Only fools play negative expectation games."

I guess in his world it's OK to act foolishly 5% of the time.

The asking price was $3,500 - $4,750 including chips. It's now down to $999. He did go to the right place, though, drawing on the experience and wisdom of the helpful WOV members...many unique suggestions and comments. Ahigh is in good hands. Here are some of the better ideas.

I only make a 6 percent return over the last 5 years on sports. 100k in bets 6k in returns. So even if I went full time I couldnt make a living.
So that would make me an unsuccessful full time AP if I chose that path.
And thats with having a home there where travel expenses I have now could be eliminated.

If I take out travel expenses.....its a net 5.5 percent profit.( i dont deduct all travel since we have a home and would go to reno/sparks whether I gamble or not to check on the house and pick up mail and do other activities......just 50 percent less often)

As far as poker, I am slightly positive for the last 3 years.....and cant brag to be a consistent winner ......and would not extrapolate my 3 year "income" to being able to make a loving from it. I am still getting better.

so I am an unsuccessful AP ..if I am an AP at all.

I'm actually here for something else, but I'll respond to this really quick:

You make yourself look like even more of a moron with every post you make regarding this matter. It's embarrassing and you should stop. Ownership of the sites (WoO/LCB) specifically asked me to provide a photo for the, 'About Us,' pages, if it was up to me, I don't know whether I'd have it on there or not. If ownership demanded I write under my real name, then I probably would and just have to deal with the consequences.

Further, there are reasons why having my picture (associated with a pseudonym) is less of a concern than having my actual name associated with AP writing. Those reasons should be obvious enough that I'm not going to type them out here. I'd get another tl;dr accusation from Freddy, despite the fact that he has probably read everything I've ever written, twice, and apparently (by his own admission) checks a page with my picture on it daily.

 

Wow, that's the most fucked up thing I've read in awhile, if you're being serious. Maybe that should be a new GA question, "Has gambling ever caused you to have an erection that you have then shoved in the face of another man?" I've got to believe you'd be one of only a few people to answer, 'Yes,' to that one.

 

In fairness, that sounds pretty AP, just recreational AP. I guess the only other criteria would be that the balance of your total gambling action be +EV, as Axel mentioned.

 

I would love to see you play at a table games pit. I have this sneaking suspension that you actually tell other players 'Shhhsssssh' when they win larger amounts.<<<<

I don't know why Selling it to a promo company was a bad? There are companies that set up parties for convention's and different thing's. They Rent out and set up everything. I Worked for a place like that briefly. They had some some gaming tables they rented out.
