Misc WizardOfVegas Forum is Dying

Is Nathan an idiot or does he know exactly what he's doing? He's taunting them....making fools out of OnceDear, Wizardofnothing and the mods. Most of all Mission/Pavlov/.

Nathan is deluged with insults every time he posts yet not one suspension or even a warning from the simpleminded imbeciles in charge. He seems to be smarter, learning from past mistakes and staying within the rules. He's playing them like a violin and Mission//Pav is so frustrated he's threatening to close the thread. That's what the mods do over there when they get bested over and over. They close threads hoping to put their incompetence out of sight out of mind.

Well played Nathan/Kentry/Aimee. I look forward to more posts. Perhaps you could discuss watching the grass grow. That should be good for a couple of thousand words by James......Brandon James.

 

Remember when Aimee21 made them all look like fools on WOV? The mods had no clue. They still don't. Aimee broke no rules. Aimee outsmarted the mods which is not that hard to do. Aimee was nuked so the Beached Whale could save face.

Again, I ask, why do you care so much what occurs at WoV freddy? You say you are a member in good standing there and unlike some of us that have been banned, you could participate there if you choose to. So if you have made the decision that WoV is not your cup of tea, why obsess over what goes on there? I really don't get that.

In my own case my draw to WoV was the gambling and Vegas related topics. I considered WoV part of the AP community because it has some discussion on AP and Vegas topics. And I found I enjoyed participating in some of the non-AP, topics as well. That was my interest. But I am not welcome there through circumstances beyond my control.

And yes, I used this site and this thread to voice my displeasure about those circumstances, and my disappointment that Mike Shackleford would allow an outside, non-member to come to his site for the singular purpose of getting a regular contributing member banned. But there comes a point that you move on. I don't read WoV every day or every hour as some of you guys seem to. Maybe once a week when I have too much time on my hands. I just am not obsessed with what is going on there.

But I think I will take this opportunity for a little 'update'. See I view my circumstances a little differently than some other banned people here. I didn't repeatedly break any kind of rules or engage in frequent insulting of people or other games that people play at WoV. My "sin" was voicing my opinion of a situation on another (AP) site, where a member was full of shit! He was a fraud and more importantly was misleading members of the community with his fraudulent, and bullshit claims. As a legitimate, somewhat successful member of the AP community, I had not only a right, but a responsibility to call this out. And now a year and a half later, I have been proven right, when Blackjack author and expert Don Schlesinger (belatedly) came to and publically expressed the same conclusion that this person was full of crap. But it was never about being right or wrong for me. I am not someone who enjoys challenging other peoples credibility. I just wanted the misleading and fraudulent BS to stop and it finally has (somewhat).

It is clear, and maybe it became clearer to me on the outside looking in, that WoV is less the AP-related, and Vegas topic site that I thought it was and much more of a general entertainment "goofy" game-playing community. Lots of back-stabbing and sneaking around multiple ID's things that I don't find very amusing or interesting. I guess others do. To each his own.

Having had this opportunity to view WoV from the outside, I realize it is not a site I should have that much interest in. It's all head games and posturing. And yes, I have had discussions a number of times throughout the last year about returning. Even recent discussions that I haven't made public. Very recent discussion have just concluded yet again, when it became clear that the person in charge, the person who's name is on the site, is more concerned about looking bad, more concerned about what other people may think of him, than trying move forward and correct a situation that he handled very badly and really had no right even getting involved with. That's a shame. It's disappointing to me yet again. Nothing I can do about other people's insecurities.

For the record, I don't know f I could or would have actually gone back to WoV. I don't know if I could have ever been comfortable there sharing my experiences as I did for 4 years. But I think I would have at least tried. My respect for some of the AP there, including Shackleford, who I respect as an AP, just not his site administrator abilities, would have compelled me to at least try to return to a site that I once found worthwhile and enjoyable.

So I am not going back. I don't even have the chance to make that decision. But I am not going to sit and read and comment on every thing that goes on there like some little kid with his face pressed up against the window of the candy store. What is the point in that? Move forward.

 

One could argue that the mods suffer fools like him "too gladly."

 

We close threads so we don't have shit like every post you've made in your entire life clogging up our forum. Not accusing you of being either of them, but it wouldn't shock me.

My standard is a provable reason, generally speaking. There are some cases in which I'd be willing to call something, "Trolling," and we may or may not be getting there. If anyone gets nuked for trolling, at least by me, it'll only be after I've given that person every chance to make reasonable posts.

Right now, my biggest problem is not the threads that some would call senseless, just how many of them there are.

 

I currently do not believe I have sufficient cause to ban him, so at this time, there is no question of, 'When.'

 

It could be he's just a bit retarded / or intellectually dull, like James Fritz seems to be at Patrick's board.

 

I'm not going to say that I think that of either Krava or Nathan, but what I will say is that there are different people out there with different general levels of intellectual ability and knowledge (or lack thereof) in different areas. If there is a Forum for discussing nuclear physics out there, and I were to post there, then they might think that I am a troll or, 'Retarded.' Of course, it doesn't mean that I have broken any rules necessarily, but they are not wrong for steering me towards trying to find answers to the rudimentary aspects of nuclear physics on my own before clogging up their shit with what they would consider novice-level posts.

I'm also a little conflicted, if you want me to be honest. On the one hand, I don't like how many new threads are created for things that may seem, 'Silly,' to some. On the other hand, the threads have generated discourse (generally) and some of it has been productive discourse. The points thread, for instance, where more than one person said, "Well, here's a situation where it could be done and could be relevant..." and that's obviously consistent with the Forum's goal of discussing gambling.

That's why I keep saying, absent any rule violations, if you don't like the OP (meaning the post, not the person) then don't respond to the thread.

So, I'm basically in a, 'Wait and see,' mode right now.

The question is whether he is what he seems to be, or someone / something altogether different, using a sock to troll the board.

If he's real, Nathan seems nice enough, albeit quite naive / sheltered.

You readily admit that he has done no wrong. While you don't directly participate in this "sport" it still makes you the number one bully. You owe Nathan an apology.

That's absolutely right, and the same could be said of Kentry, of course. I'm not saying one is the other, just making the point that comparisons can be made, so those of whoever that want to toss shade at us (basically act like we're idiots for at least attempting to be fair) can shove it because...yes...we know...we might be getting trolled.

Again, though, I am not sufficiently convinced that we ARE being trolled, so no bans until I am...probably a couple other Admins would have to agree, too, for something like this.
