Can you show me where I have made any ridiculous claims during your vacation or whatever? If not, perhaps you should find the name of an Alleged AP who makes ridiculous claims who you can refer to. That would probably help add something to your agenda.

 

As a matter of fact....more than "welcome", I challenge Mike to pop in and dispute anything I have just stated. I challenge him to be a man and tell the truth and clear this up once and for all.

All I ask from Mike is the truth. I ask a truthful answer to these 3 questions:

Did Norm only show up at WoV to have me banned?
Did Norm request, beg or use any influence with you to get me banned?
Did you act honorably and fairly in this matter?

You basically have answered all 3 in private, be a man and state the answers publicly. I deserve that.

Someone just sent me an email asking why I am "obsessed" with this a year later? I want to answer publicly, because other's probably also wonder.

I was banned under false pretenses.

1.) Someone who didn't participate at the site came to the site and demanded that I be silenced.
2.) Shackleford did so out of some sort of misplaced sense of obligation to this person.
3.) He made up a phony 'truce' and in the end, used a reason contrary to his sites own stated policy of not considering things said on other forums.
4.) And then he lied to the WoV members and even the other mods that questioned him, because he couldn't defend his actions.

But mostly I suspect he lied to himself. But oddly enough, because he has some sense of decency about him, he was honest with me privately. He just has never been man enough to be honest publicly.....and I think I deserve that. I really do.

I have done it before, but I want to take this opportunity to discuss friendship with Mike, since he is apparently unfamiliar with the concept. When someone does some 'math work' for you that is a professional courtesy. It doesn't make them your best friend, that you are obligate to. If they ask you for a 'favor', that violates your own sense of what is right or wrong you don't agree because "you can't say no". You are not indebted to them like that. He's not the Godfather. Mike you should have told your "friend" Norm, no you were not going to help him silence someone, a good, long standing, positive contributor to your site, just because of a difference in opinion. That's what the other site owners/administrators did and it what you should have also done. You should have shown some balls and integrity and said no.

And finally, I ask you Mike, what has this gotten you? Your dear friend who demanded that you compromise your integrity on his behalf.....has repaid you how? He has contributed what to your site since you caved to his demand? He used you. You know it. I know it. He knows it. All I can say is a real friend would never put another friend in this position.

Again, all I ask of you Mike, is to finally be honest publicly, just as you have been privately with me. I deserve that. Hell....you deserve that.

 

KJ, you've said the exact same thing 14,000 times over the last year. Who are you trying to convince? You're not helping yourself at all at this point, when you do this at some point people begin to forget the stuff you contributed years ago and only remember you for the incessant whining about how you've been treated, almost like the resident ball washer. It is clear that KJ feels a sense of betrayal, and is in pain over this ordeal.

I see nothing wrong with him venting about it here; if indeed WoV is dying, the conduct he ascribes to the Wiz might help explain why.

The quoted PM from Mike is VERY revealing. To be honest, I had forgotten about it until I went back to WoV last night to read PM's, because I was looking for something else.

I would ask that you read through that PM again. Mike basically admits everything I have ever said. And I give him credit for that. All I am asking is that he state that truth publicly, instead of having a different story publicly.

And if his words, which I cut and pasted directly from his PM, are inaccurate in any way, I welcome him to join the discussion and explain.

 

Why would he demand proof? That's not what he banned you for. I said that is the statement that I would have banned you for. You get that we're two different people, right?

I probably would have asked for some proof of that, "Over 20 E-Mails," and you would need to hope that those people are going to speak up on your behalf. What's to stop me from creating twenty fictitious E-Mail addresses, sending myself E-Mails from all of them, and then claiming I have E-Mails from, "Twenty different people?"

The fact is you made the statement (in my opinion, could be wrong) because you felt like it helped your position and it either wouldn't be challenged or, strictly speaking, couldn't be disproven. Didn't you also mention, "First week of my ban," on that? I thought you were only banned once (you claimed) prior to be Nuked, or was that Freddy saying that about 1BB? I'm sorry, I'm legitimately mixed up on who said that.

Never mind, just looked, you have a long suspension history, no way you'd have said that.

Looks like Face banned you for the three days which was your first ban in about a year...looks like I banned you for Personal Insult for questioning AxiomofChoice's upbringing, that was a week ban...looks like I banned you for thirty days for an unquestionable Personal Insult against TreeTopBuddy, there wasn't even a doubt on that one.

And, then, the subject matter post and your last post.

I don't even know that the whole thing had to do with being on thin ice, I think your ice was so thin that Wizard wasn't even going to take anything even remotely resembling crap from you, at that point. I'll admit, I'd probably have been a little more lenient, but not much.

 

I don't know or care what was said because I am not the one who acted upon it, but I will say that if a known Member of WoV is the same person to undeniably eviscerate us elsewhere, depending on the context and content, it is not 100% outside of the realm of possibility that I would ban the person.

I know that generally Members aren't employed by WoV, so this isn't a great comparison, but think of it like trashing your employer outside of the workplace while you are employed there, I'd fire someone for that, depending on the context.

Here's a better example, let's say I have a pizza place called, "Mission...Pizza!" and you come in and buy my pies pretty regularly, but then you go out on the sidewalk in front of my shop with a, "Mission...Pizza! Sucks!" sign. No, I can't stop you from doing that on a public sidewalk, but next time you come to buy more of my pizza, I'm going to tell you to fuck yourself, instead, and ban you from my restaurant. If my pizza sucks that bad, then you don't need to eat it.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know anything about that first paragraph. My understanding of the situation is that you coming back is 100% not on the table, but if something is going on elsewhere, I wouldn't be privy.

 

KJ, I see that you post on the blackjack forum here at GF.

Perhaps if you posted even more frequently it might lure some more WoVers to respond and interact with you like they did at WoV.

This site hasn't come close to hitting critical mass yet; be nice if it did.

Good eye! There are a lot of similarities between the two. But unlike with Nathan or anyone who is not one of "the boys" they'll say it's all circumstantial and circumstantial is not enough. It's enough for some but not others. Let's take a look at some of those similarities shall we?

Agreed. To date this site has had limited discussions on the intended topic of the site, gambling and as a subset of that, Advantage Play, and an even lesser interest in blackjack. I have tried to post in the blackjack section in the hopes of starting some discussions and will continue to do so.

I think moderation issue and the initial policy of all most anything goes, lead to the current state. I can only speak for AP's and while there are a handful of AP's like Axel, Mickey, RS and myself that will tolerate, maybe even enjoy (too much) some of the drama and name-calling, most AP's won't tolerate that level of personal attacks just to participate on a forum.

I think that initial policy of zero moderation/almost anything goes was abused to the point that the site became known as a gutter site and drove away and discouraged a number of AP's and serious gambling participants. Management here has taken steps to change that reputation, maybe find some sort of medium between minimal moderation, but not allowing such vicious attacks. Larry is resisting, but I applaud this and I hope in time some of those driven away and discouraged will give the site a second look. I personally will encourage a couple folks that I know to take a second look.

But regardless of whether this site grows into something more substantial that more people participate in discussions of gambling/AP play, as long as there is an active thread here discussing WoV, I can express my displeasure of the way I was mistreated there. And I believe it is very much related to the title of the thread as I believe some of Mike's less than professional, condescending and at times down right unfair treatment of people have very much contributed to the decline at WoV, both in number and quality.

 

I disagree and agree in that order. Your personal agenda/vendetta is NOT related at all to this thread, however your treatment in general included with everyone else mistreated IS very much on topic as additional contributions and causes as an example to the possible decline of wov.
Your ongoing novel of your PERSONAL trials and tribulations concerning YOUR treatment belong on it's own thread.
I can't get much clearer than that.
One shouldn't go on a veterinarians thread about elephants and start talking how an elephant stole your popcorn when you were a kid and now you hate elephants.

I thought you knew the difference between forum administrator and internet censor. Have to sadly admit, I may have been mistaken. Oh, when you said F*** You to a member on this forum, did you consider a self suspension? My utmost respect for you is slowly diminishing.

 

Nate, title for thread wov is slowly dying. I for one miss kewls posts on WOV and feel I am not alone in that sentiment.

To the best of my knowledge, I was within the Rules of this Forum when I said it and do not believe I said it to a non-banned Member of the WoV Forum. If not in the Rules, then this Forum can level upon me whatever the punishment is for that. I really fail to see what my saying that to a Member of this Forum has to do with me trashing WoV on a different Forum. If I came here and trashed WoV, Wizard, WoO or any of the owners I would fully expect not to be an Administrator there anymore.

My point is that if someone, who was provably the same person, went and trashed us at a different forum there are a non-zero number of situations in which I would Nuke them for that. They would be few and far between, but there are a non-zero number of them. Basically nearly impossible, but not completely impossible.

Here's one for you Grub (sic): I have only ever posted at WoV under one screen name and have never been suspended for any reason whatsoever. And because I know you'll come back with something completely ridiculous like "that doesn't mean you haven't joined and never posted", understand that I have never had any association with WoV in any way at all other than my one and only screen name.
