That'll never happen, but you can make an "end run around it" by creating a new account at WoV on a computer you never used before, so no IP match issues, then create a name similar to the one you used, post your comments, and when the ban comes the comments will remain on the board. At least I think they will; typically all the posts of the banned reamain after they're exiled.

It wasn't for me. I can post there just fine. I never had any interaction with Paigowdan but did read his posts and follow his career.

You're right, it'll never happen because Shackleford could never be progressive...could never think "outside the box". It takes a real man to do that. Not a petty little twerp.

As I pass through again, of course the same flock of morons with no life are carrying on.

The administration cleans up this thread when the morons carry on about off topics. How come they don’t clean it up when the complete fucking moron Mission146 with no obvious real life carries on with the other complete fucking moron Kewlj? Isn’t there a private club where they could meet up and get together? Just read the last few pages of this thread. Can the administration create a new forum called, “no one gives a fuck” and clean this ridiculous nonsense and meaningless conversations up.

I know Mission thinks he’s important on these pathetic forums. Yet, I’m still hopeful that one day he’ll realize how much of a fool he made of himself all over these forums.

I’m very interested to know what if anything the administration could possibly gain from sponsoring such garbage. Why would anyone waste any amount of money on such a useless, meaningless, forum?

What I also find interesting is that Kewlj, AxelWolf, Mission146, Mr.V, Mickey Crimm, redietz, Fisk, jbs, RS, AxelWolf, Mission146, all the main posters in this thread titled “Wizard of Vegas Forum is Dying” all come from the WOV forums, and it should be obvious that eventually the only logical thread that should follow is “Gambling Forums.com is Dying” It’s the same group of pathetic assholes.

Is the administration praying for a miracle online casino promoter to make them an offer? I wouldn’t bank on it. Most of the assholes from WOV are compulsive gamblers and already were gambling on unregulated online casinos. I know that don’t matter to the AP’s cause they make so much online, the amount they get fucked out of doesn’t matter and is viewed just as bad variance. Just ask Axelrabbit. That idiot bank of players is only so deep, which I certain the promoters that bought WOV regret by now.

Can this nonsense get any worse???

    Blackhole,

For the record, I'm not from the WOV forums. Never posted there. Anonymity and inaccuracy must go together.

More thoughts on ZenKinG (at WoV). With each passing day it becomes more and more obvious that this person isn't cut out for a life of blackjack card counting.....at least for a profession, eggs in one basket type thing. Maybe just maybe he could grow into becoming a part-time player, supplementing another income or part-time job. I really hate that I am not able to share my thoughts with him, because I just don't think the card counters at WoV are doing such a good job. Maybe because there aren't many card counters left at WoV. RS has clearly moved on to other advantage play (as most card counters do), I don't know what Romes is up to but don't see him posting as much.

Card counting is one of the most elementary of AP plays. I often say a monkey could be taught the mechanics of card counting and I think I might be proof of that. But there are two sort of mental qualifications that a card counting looking to play professionally, meaning earning his keep, must have. Zenking is lacking both, at least at this point.

The first is that I believe you have to really be into card counting....sort of obsessed with it. With such a tiny edge (if you do everything right) you just aren't going to make a fortune, as a solo player. This isn't the 70's or 80's. For a solo card counter, it is just a slow grind. And if you want to achieve any kind of longevity, it's about learning what limits will allow for that. A slow grind and mid-level play (which is better tolerated), means if you are in it only for the money, there are just so many better and more profitable ways to make money in and out of advantage play. So, if you are choosing card counting it should be because you are "wowed" at making money from blackjack play, as I still am after 14 years. I LOVE making my living playing blackjack. Anyone who doesn't feel that way should not be looking to card counting blackjack as a profession. Unfortunately, in the last couple days, ZenKinG posted that he was more interested in the money. I don't see that "fire" about making money from blackjack that I thought he might have.

The second thing is that you can't sweat the losses, especially on a daily basis. Blackjack card counting is a low edge, high variance endeavor. There are wild swings and a severe negative run can easily last for weeks and months! I have heard "years", but haven't personally experienced that. This second issue of not sweating the variance, I believe is something you can grow into, as you go through some of the swings, you can begin to become more comfortable with them.

The swings....the really long negative swings, is something I am still learning to deal with, even after 14 years. Not the daily swings, but when weeks of losing turns into months of losing, it can be hard to take. The only analogy, I can think of is: you feel like you are going to work day after day, and come payday, you owe the boss money.:( When these weeks of losing stretch into months, motivation becomes my own big block. It becomes more of a drag and you have to push yourself. So much easier when you are winning! ;)

But that is the longer term swings. If you are sweating the daily swings and losses, as ZenKing is, I don't know if that can be overcome. I guess someone going through it the first time gets some 'leeway', but if someone is "sweating" daily swings when they have been at card counting for a while, like ZenKing has, I am thinking he just isn't cut out for it.

I am trying to cut him some slack, because the start of a professional card counting career is tricky. There is a definite learning curve there, concerning the mental aspect. And when you pick up and move across country, with no support group, and are doing something like card counting (eggs all in one basket), it is even worse. AND if it's your first time own your own, paying rent, etc, I imagine EVEN worse. But if he doesn't figure it out very quickly....and I am specifically talking about dealing with the swings and everyday losses, he should pack up and go "home".

Hopefully, for ZenKing, if this little meetup, that some of the WoVers (axel and others) comes about, hopefully that can be a great benefit, because he needs to expand his horizons if he is going to prove me wrong (and I hope he does prove me wrong). He needs to 1.) broaden his AP repertoire, and 2.) probably get a part-time job at least for a while, so he has money coming in and isn't crushed by that all money flowing out occurrence that sometimes happens.

It is hard for me to just watch him floundering. I really hope he can turn it around. But at least at this point he has to figure some things out.

Yes, he is! But aren't we all at times.

Specifically, he is young and 'cocky' and I am not talking of an "asset" that could be beneficial in a porn career. :D He is arrogant, thinks he knows it all and doesn't accept criticism well. As I said before, the kind of guy you almost want to root against. (and many are). And that is ALL on him. He is in a position that he could benefit greatly from a few members/players that have traveled the road he wants to take, sharing their experiences, yet so far, he has mostly offended many of them. o_O

That's funny! That was a great line in a great movie. :D

I put his chances just a little bit better than that because he does have a couple things in his favor.

1.) He is young, with no dependents. A must for someone starting out.
2.) He has (or says he has) a bankroll of $50,000+, which is far better than most starting out. Most are severely under-funded (I know little bit about this). It remains to be seen just how much of that he is really willing to lose. So in effect he is probably starting out with much less.
3.) He is in contact with, or has the potential to be in contact with, a few players that seem to be indicating a willingness to help him. It remains to be seen if they really want to, or he will allow them to or accept any help.
4.) He currently is in a city that would allow him a chance to succeed, with a large quantity of opportunities and games (Quantity not quality) and low housing costs, both which will minimize expenses.

So I put his chances just slightly better than 0.0. Not a lot better, just slightly.

Let's see if he is the same kind of person in RL as he is online. If so, I think he will have a hard time getting any good information. It would take a major change in his attitude and demeanor. No one wants to work with, share with or associate with someone who's that emotional and a possible a loose canon. I don't think someone like RS would get within 1000 feet of him unless he was assured the guy was AP approved and safe to be around.

I hope he doesn't have his hopes up of getting any valuable information after one or two meetings.

It's one thing to be dedicated to playing BJ, but obsessed to the point it's driving you crazy, I wouldn't recommend that. I don't think anyone is. He seems to be obsessed with the wrong aspects of counting.

I find it kinda crazy he has not seen a BJ card spread with all the counting he has claimed.

Owe? Of course not. I'm under no delusion that I do. But I enjoy the repartee, the debate, arguing. And I still like KJ more than I'm disappointed... I guess I have the same urge to help him as he does to new APs.

KJ, I know I can be what appears to be critical or judgemental, as in this case. It's not my intention to tell you "how it is", or to state what it is you're saying. What I AM trying to do is be a mirror. As one who has caught the ire of WoV management and is embroiled in a years long drama, many of the comments you make take on a different shade. I understand what it means to differentiate between an avatar and the real person behind it, and I certainly understand Dan's online persona and the impression / reactions he caused. I just felt, and I would suspect that most well-raised folks do as well (and this is not a disguised slight saying that you aren't), that this was definitely a "if you can't say something nice" scenario.

It's just... damn, but I'm having a hard time putting this into words. I guess it's like this... when QFIT came and started his whole shit, remember how I said I was floored? How I couldn't believe all the shit he was saying? Well, I'm not saying that all of a sudden I can see how you're affiliated with a hate group (lol), but I AM saying that imagining someone could be offended by dear ol KJ is getting easier and easier to believe. QFIT isn't making that change. Mike ain't making that change. KJ's actions are.

Again, I'm not trying to tell you how it is. I'm just trying to be a mirror. One data point. And this data point's views are changing.

On QFIT himself, please give me more credit. I'll tell you exactly what I think to assuage your fears of my being played...

I totally believe your stance that he came just to fuck with you. You've provided evidence, I've seen others, I've seen not one single thing to refute it, I'm comfortable with keeping that position. I am not happy with him based on his actions that resulted in the removal of someone I enjoyed. My dislike for him increased with his failure to acknowledge Bab's request to stand down. It felt as though he used a connection, whatever that's worth, to disrespect the management of a place I liked and a manager whom I consider a friend. I further gave no points for his repeated claim that he would begin providing content when he ceased being pestered, and then falling off the map as soon as the pestering stopped. It is safe to say that at that moment I lost any hope or faith that he was acting in a genuine manner. In other words, he lost me.

The reason I bring up his participation now is because we are the super minority. You remember the TA guys at WoV? Those ones who came over because their former home went to shit? I dunno if you're familiar with the TA board itself, but I'm not. So all of their complaints and discussion, no matter how pure, solid, whatever, just looks like petty bullshit to me. It looks like our conversations do to Blackhole. The vast, VAST majority of folks in your life, whether virtual or real, do not give a shit. All they care about is what you're putting in their face now.

THAT'S why I brought it up. QFIT looked batshit fucking crazy storming in and accusing you of a pile of horseshit. Maybe not to you, as you were involved. But for the other 99% of the forum, shithouse rat fucking crazy. Wouldn't you say he's a small man holding onto utterly worthless grudges that ain't worth a tin shit even if they were real? I would. And. I. Fear. You're. Going. Down. That. Same. Path.

Dunno, man. I'd just be much happier seeing you thriving on a new board, with many of the same people who likely would've followed, or new folks that would've latched on, as opposed to still slogging through shit for going on year 2.

Right, unless you are doing something shitty continually people tend to forgive and forget. As face said, most people care about what's going on now. At the beginning, most people were in support of KJ, at least up until the point where KJ started in on Mike here, including what was perceived as threatening Mike(or whatever you want to call it). Things could have been salvaged IMO. KJ claims Mike was never going to let him back on, I disagree with that, but whatever(Ya, ya, I know, it was taking too long), but let's just say KJ was correct and Mike was not going to ever let him back on. Had KJ went about things in a different way, said his piece and let it go, even knowing he may never be able to return to WOV, he could have salvaged the situation and his reputation and went out with everyone's support all while everyone thinking/knowing he was unfairly treated, perhaps even a WOV martyr. People would have found KJ on whatever site he was on, Hell, he could have just started his own blog or whatever, I know people would have directed new counters to wherever he was posting, I bet even Mike would have.

I know, I know, KJ was not going to bend over or be silenced, he was going to stand up for himself etc. etc.

I would like to say he won the battle but lost the war, unfortunately, it looks like all has been lost.

Look at WOV, people have already all but forgot about Norm's involvement in this, or they just don't care, he's now posting and interacting with people as if nothing happened. It's not because he has some power over anyone or he's special. It's because people can move on and have. No doubt, there are some people who like flaming but dare not to.

Norm's involvement, posting and interacting with people as if nothing happened is completely irrelevant. First off, he has plenty of time to participate at WoV, because his own site is nearly dead. Norm ran the majority of professional or serious blackjack players off his site, which is a site totally devoted to blackjack AP, to the point where there is 4 or 5 members that make almost all of the dozen or so posts each day. His site is dead and what discussion there is remaining is mostly voodoo shit. It is these 3 or 4 guys that Norm gave a platform to talk about there "super duper" counting methods that no one else can understand let alone use. In the end (as it was in the beginning) it is just all non-sense and most serious and professional type players will have nothing or little to do with the site. So his site is dead, so he can now post away at WoV, where not long ago, he vowed he never would because Mike and LCB could not be trusted.

However, that being said, whether Norm participated at WoV is irrelevant. I had no problem with Norm participating at WoV. I have participated on a number of sites with Norm. I didn't say said Norm couldn't participate, nor did I demand of Mike that Norm shouldn't be allowed to participate, as Norm demanded of Mike about me. It was Norm that demanded of Mike and used his influence to shut down me, and that information, came from Mike himself.

I completely reject this idea, that you have put forth a few times now. On the very day, that Mike banned me, he sent me an email stating "That Norm had demanded he take action against me". It also stated that "given the choice between me (KJ) and Norm as members he would have picked me anyday". Again, this was the very same day he banned me. And just a few days after that Mike wrote to me "that he knows handled the situation very poorly".

So with this "taking too long" bullshit, explain to me why it should have taken any time. Three days would have been too long, considering the man (Mike) almost instantaneously admitted he was wrong and That Norm demanded this action of him. The reason it was taking too long, as in never going to happen is because Mike couldn't find the balls to do what he was telling me, he knew was right. That is my biggest disappointment, that he just wasn't man enough to do what he knew and was telling me was right.

And there is one other very, very strange twist that fits in right here. In these first few weeks when Mike and I were communicating privately, he agreed with many of my points. At one time he said, "you make some good points but I just can't let you back because I consider Norm a friend". So the one time when we were close to an agreement that would allow me to return, Mike ended with a statement that "he would have to run this by Norm and see if he was agreeable to me returning".

I sort of knew it before that, but this is the moment I knew that Norm was in complete control, his hand up Mike's ass working him like a puppet.

What the fuck....Martyr?? Are you nuts? I was not and am not looking to be a martyr.

Why should I have to "salvage the situation and my reputation". I did nothing wrong. I am a guy that participated on a message board site. It so happens I am a professional blackjack player and live in Las Vegas, so I wanted to contribute to site which had frequent discussion of advantage play and Las Vegas. And that's what I did for 4 years. I contribute in a positive manner, and shared my experiences and opinions. It's not like I was a guy who was involved in numerous controversies and constantly breaking the rules. Everything was fine, until I expressed an opinion that someone (Qfit) who wasn't even a member of the site didn't like. He showed up, bullied and demanded that I be silenced, which is and continues to be complete bullshit.

So why should I have to try to "salvage" anything. I did absolutely nothing wrong. All I have ever asked is to be treated fairly. I really don't think that was or is too much to expect.

correction: Mike and I communicated via PM, not email as I misstated above. Minor detail, but "someone" used this technicality to his advantage during this ordeal, saying he never PM'ed Mike, when he had in fact emailed him instead. So I just wanted to set the record straight.
