Exactly but for some players betting almost all the board make them confident and they feel happy when the marker is placed on their number. There is the Ego problem, as there are some people watching the game around the players, including some beauties , when you are betting on a lot of numbers, people around you believe you are a winner because the dealer pushes chips often, but they don't realize all the chips that goes to the dealer corner when the few numbers they are not betting on come in.

 

I guess you can do a +1/-1 progression on two dozens and two columns but you’d really need to rely on a streak to win back losses
