Announcing Optimum Video Poker (OpVP) version 4.0

OpVP, the only video poker program with true strategy chart training, and the only one available for Mac as well as Windows, has just been upgraded.

In 2011, OpVP 3 introduced an entirely new concept in training for advantage play.
The major new features included:
* A newly designed strategy generator that does not make any assumptions.
* An option to selectively include penalty cards in a generated strategy chart.
* A strategy editor that allows modifying a chart or entering a chart from scratch.
* A strategy evaluator that calculates the precise Expected Return with a given chart.
* A break-even calculation for progressives and for minimum cost of royal strategy.
And most importantly...
* The Strategy Trainer, which displays a hand rank chart in your choice of format next to the game window. You may look up a play in the chart as you would on a cue card when playing in a casino. When you make an error, the best play is highlighted in green in the chart, and your play is highlighted in red. That way, you learn to relate card patterns to chart entries. No other program can train you to understand and follow a chart as this does.
* Cost of error calculation. Besides highlighting the chart entry indicating what should have been held, and showing the immediate cost of the error in dollars and cents, the program also shows the projected long-term per-hour cost if this same error was made every time this decision occurred.

Now OpVP 4 has several important improvements, including:
* A Player Preference to use black and white chart highlights for color blind users
* Redesigned the Strategy Generator, speeding it up significantly
* Improved the strategy generation, evaluation and checking for Deuces Wild games
* Added a function to adjust a generated chart to create a better basic strategy
* Fixed several problems with deuce-interference Straight Flush draws in Deuces Wild
* Fixed several problems in the Strategy Editor, especially for RF and low SF hand types
* Improved optional penalty selection and application
* Improved error indication when the second best possible hold is not in the chart
* Fixed Optimize Chart to correctly adjust the DHF and Mean EV when combining entries
* Fixed error in calculation of penalty points when checking player's hold
* Fixed a bug in selecting a different strategy for playing a Deuces Wild game
* Fixed a bug in counting hands played perfectly in the Player History
* Expanded the User Manual, now 70 pages, includes more on creating strategies

Optimum Video Poker 4 will run on:
* Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
* Mac OS X 10.9.5, 10.10.5, 10.11.x and macOS Sierra 10.12.x.
* It should also run on newer versions of those systems as they come out.
* Display must have minimum 768 vertical resolution. 1024 is preferable.
