Looking in to getting in to this, but curious what your experiences are? Do you prefer one site over the other?

The basic differences, for football, are that fanduel uses a kicker, one quarterback, and no flex players. Draftkings uses two quarterbacks, two flex players, and no kickers. I have only a little experience with draftkings.

Many of these points may be moot, as they are supposed to be merging, as in almost immediately. I have no idea if that means the sites will be merged or will maintain separate umbrellas.

I'm not much of a fantasy player, and only football, so other folks will be able to expand greatly on this. Be warned -- unless you stick with single entry contests, you are up against cartels putting hundreds of entries into each contest. The NYTimes did an expose last year regarding this stuff, so look it up. Basically, until these single entry contests were set up in response to lawsuits and state attorney generals, 2% of the people were winning more than half the money.

    You're welcome.

If you sign with fanduel, be sure to try their free contests. There are a couple of sponsors that host free football contests each week. May as well try them out.

I was on weekly drafk king games last year. I churned 100 dollars down to zero by the end of the season....easy to use.....unless I drove to nevada ..then they wouldnt let me make or change my teams....

but i wouldnt re-enter......because at the end of the year they asked erveryone to fill out a w-4 form..or something like that...and i wasnt going to give them my SS number......so I am sitting out this year.
No big deal because my real betting is normal sportsbook fare.......DKings was just a fun side activity

Just a heads up. As expected, fanduel and draftkings have announced their consolidation into a single company.

Also, with Thanksgiving looming, there are many small single-entry level contests one can join that are either free or underwritten by advertisers. So, for example, this week one can enter some Oakheart-sponsored contests for $1 that are single-entry (no cartels) or Corona-sponsored free contests.

These freebies or cheap underwritten contests are a good way to break in. They are positive EV. I also received an email that new players who sign up can play their first five special novice contests free of charge These are 50/50's, which means the top half get paid.
