Recently, two members have expressed their displeasure at our current style and level of moderation, expressing to us that we are subjective, unclear, disinterested, biased, impartial, retaliatory, and vindictive, among other things. One of them is upset with us for various reasons, and the other is an Admin of a forum he says competes with us, so it is rather difficult for us to gauge whether this is a general consensus of our members or just disgruntled members being disgruntled.

This made us stop and wonder how our members as a whole truly feel about our current style and level of moderation. So this is your opportunity to tell us if you're happy with it or not to either keep the status quo or effectuate change.

If the majority are not happy with it, then we will open a big debate on how we can change and improve it. Otherwise, we will keep it as-is for the time being.

This thread is not for discussion. Just a clean vote, "Yes" or "No", without any interference one way or another. Your votes are not public, so vote what you truly believe so we can gauge the genuine level of satisfaction with our current style and level of moderation and course-correct accordingly if necessary. You will not be able to see the results until you vote. You also cannot switch votes once you've voted. The poll will last 7 days. If we don't get at least 20 votes by then, then we will extend the vote until we get 20 votes.

No matter what you feel, make sure you vote. So if you want there to be change in our current style and level of moderation, then make sure you make your vote count and vote "No" (not happy). Likewise, if you do not want there to be change, then also make your vote count and vote "Yes" (happy).

Even if "Yes" wins, we will be gauging the level of dissatisfaction, that's why it's important that you vote. We're expecting at least 2 "No" votes from the aforementioned disgruntled members, but we suspect there may be more members who aren't happy with our current level and style of moderation and aren't saying it, and we want to understand how big of an issue our current moderation style and level are.

    Thank you for voting.

    Voting is over.

    The Yes votes won.

However, our suspicions were correct, and there are still several (almost 1 in 3) who are not happy with our current style and level of moderation.

So although we won't be making any major changes to our current style and level of moderation, we will be making some smaller changes.

We will create a separate thread about this.

    Thank you for voting.

Is there a list of voters? Not asking how they voted. Just curious if the people who voted were members with more than a few posts from, "fake members".

No, as we said the votes would not be public so more folks would be willing to vote, but keep in mind that brand new members cannot vote in polls.
