Poker Counterfeit in Holdem, how bad can it be ?

    Of course there are different kinds of counterfeit but here's a typical example, just to show the affect it has on your holding.

    You have a strong hand here Jack’s and Two’s with a Queen kicker, only two hand elements have you beat a better two pair and a set. The board is offering 5.3 % equity to each opponent.
    Over pairs to the board and top pair can call a good bet here because this is a good board for both those hands (Fig 2. Fig 3.).

    Here’s the Counterfeit part.

    You have Jack’s and Seven’s with a Queen kicker it looks like you improved from fig 1. but your hand got a lot worse. If you look down the river column you will see the single pair hands come into play (because the board paired). This is the counterfeit effect, now instead of the board offering 5.3 % equity to each opponent it jumped to 24.2 % equity for each opponent.
    Also over pairs to the board and top pair would have been able to call a large bet on the turn because it would have been a good board for both those hands (Fig 5. Fig 6.).
