    Over on VCT Alan Mendelsen wants to know what the chances of being dealt a Wild Royal in Deuces Wild are. It's not that hard a calculation for someone experienced with the math. Nerakil make the comment that sites don't put up these kind of odds. The good news is it's not needed if you know where to go. Anyone can go to wolfvideopoker.com and download frugalvideopoker for free.

    I pulled up frugal on my PC, then pulled up a Deuces Wild game. Then I went to the strategy chart. But first, there are 2,598,960 five-card combinations in a 52 card deck:

    52X51X50X49X48/5X4X3X2X1 = 2,598,960

    Here's a screenshot of the strategy chart.

    Deuces Wild Strategy Chart.jpg

    You can see the hand in the chart showing 3 Wilds with two royal cards. And in the "appeared column next to it you can see the number 160. This means there are 160 combinations out of 2,598,960 that make a wild royal with 3 deuces in it. So let's see if that number is correct.

    There are 4 deuces in the deck. How many combinations make 3 deuces?

    4X3X2/3X2X1 = 4

    There are 5 royal cards in a suit. We have to catch two of them

    5X4/2X1 = 10

    4X10 = 40

    There are four suits so 40x4 = 160

    So the number is correct.

    If you look down the chart to wild royals with 2 deuces in them you will see the number 240 in the "appeared" column.

    If you look down the chart to wild royals with 1 deuce in them you will see the number 80.

    160 + 240 + 80 = 480

    2,598,960/480 means the chance of being dealt a wild royal on the flop is 1 in 5,414.5 deals.

    PS: Dimwit, Rob Singer thinks if you are dealt 4 wilds with a ten in five card draw you would have five-of-a-kind. You would actually have a royal flush. A ten is a royal card.
