The Grand Opening was yesterday, and as expected the casino was very crowded. Parking is free (at least for now). -------------------Sunday night, the numerous BJ tables had a $50 minimum ($5000 max), 8 deck, all were ASM, late surrender. Some tables were BJ pays 3:2, other tables were 6:5. Penetration was not great, although it was dealer dependent. A player is only allowed to play one spot. I’m not sure what all of the other rules were, and I don’t think the dealers knew either. Splits seemed to be unlimited. One player had the luxury of doubling down on a three card 11 (he got away with this on two different hands). It’s a nice rule in Spanish 21, but I’ve never seen it in BJ. -----------------------------The good news is that they didn’t seem to care how much you bet. Never heard “checks plays”, “purple action”, etc. Back-counting was easy to do. Easy to blend in with the crowd (lots of people standing around the gaming tables). ----------------------------The Cashier Cage had a really long line. The Cage in the Poker Room was a little bit better. I probably won’t go back Encore.
