@ fathead could you test the following please:

1st shoe we are using the selection "Follow The Last" with 1 unit flat bet for the entirety of the first shoe.
If the 1st shoe results in any positive balance then restart the process with the same parameters, FTL with 1 unit flat.
If the 1st shoe results in any negative balance, including 0, then we shall proceed to the 2nd shoe.

On the 2nd shoe the selection changes, it will be the reversed order of the sequence of the 1st shoe, for example:

1st hand result = Banker
2nd hand result = Banker
3rd hand result = Player
4th hand result = Player
5th hand result = Banker

Then on the 2nd shoe will become like this:

1st hand result = Player
2nd hand result = Player
3rd hand result = Banker
4th hand result = Banker
5th hand result = Player

During the entirety of the 2nd shoe all bets will be 2 units each, if/when an overall profit has been achieved it'd continued from 1st shoe/1st hand.
If the 2nd shoe doesn't provide a new BR high then we would proceed to the 3rd shoe.
On the 3rd shoe the selection changes again, this time it'll be the opposite of the 2nd shoe's selections, like this:

2nd shoe's selections }

1st hand result = Player
2nd hand result = Player
3rd hand result = Banker
4th hand result = Banker
5th hand result = Player

will become like this for the 3rd shoe }

1st hand result = Banker
2nd hand result = Banker
3rd hand result = Player
4th hand result = Player
5th hand result = Banker

During the entirety of the 3rd shoe the units will be 4 flat per hand till an overall profit or the end of the shoe, whatever happens first.

Make no mistake, "reversed" and "opposite" are NOT the same thing, with "reversed" we are not changing the results of the 1st shoe, we are merely changing their order, thus the 1st hand becomes the last, if you were writing on Excel or a piece of paper from the top to the bottom then make that list of decisions up side down, this is what "reverse" means.

"Opposite" is the opposite bet selection in regards with what we have selected during the 2nd shoe, I think this is more clear.

Therefore this method is functioning in triplets of shoes, if neither the 3rd shoe provides an overall profit the selection would resume to FTL, as we did on the 1st shoe, and continues in similar fashion with the 5th and 6th shoes as we did with the 2nd and 3rd respectively.
However, on the 4th shoe the units will be 8, on the 5th 16 and on the 6th shoe 32 units.

I recommend to cap the Martin-gale per shoe to either 1 - 2 - 4 (super conservative) or 1 - 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 - 64 - 128 - 256 for 9 consecutive dublings per shoe (conservative).
