Poker ICM/Bubble Mistake?

Was in the WSOP.com NLH $50 $5,000 Daily [R&A, Super Turbo]

Blinds: 5,000/10,000 (1,250)

Final table, pays top 8

Some notes: Was 7/9 place at the time with effectively 3BB. The two slightly smaller stacks seemed to be folding often to get ITM. While I would normally be ok shoving and losing with this hand, I wasn't sure if this was a mistake as we are on the bubble. BB was the chip leader, who I knew would call with his entire range, if no one else did.

Additional note: I double bought in, and did the add on. So in for $150.

TL;DR - 1 spot away from the money. Shoved with pocket 8s with 3BB left on the Cut-off, got called by BB who was chip leader. Smaller stacks appeared to be folding to get ITM. Did I make a mistake with ICM/ITM considerations?
