by the way, when viewing the former hymietowns oaks picks, I noticed that churchil has 50 cent trifecta. I never saw that before for the tri.
So when I was at the casino, I asked if they had 50 cent tris. He wasnt sure..he said he would try iy...and it worked. My tri cost 330 rather than 660.
Sill a loss of about 300....as the 3 faves came in. I never saw a Derby with tri's that low.....but I knew going in there was 2 ways I could lose...one by picking wrong...and the other by picking right and still losing money.

but the antisemite saved me money, sohe deserves my thanks for making me look at the oaks site.

your right on the money....I made three serious bets yesterday and all three were maiden races....i play the big races like the derby and breeders cup for fun but I find they are basically guessing, not handicapping...how a track is playing on the day is huge (track bias).....the best handicapper i know plays only belmont/aquduct and only plays the pick 5's.....his discipline is inspiring.

I am also an angle player so I check a lot of races for my angles and take shots....had a 50-1 at gulfstream saturday who led all the way and finished second. I had win only

I figured. That would be equivalent of me betting all 16 football games on a given day, or 16 baeball games.
You have to be able to throw out races and games.

I have another question. With betting by computer its different now.
But when you had to go to a track or simulcast venue back in the day......did you buy all your tickets at the beginning of the day, and go home? Or did you hang out...and if you had a 2 hour wait between races you wanted to bet.....you would have the disciplne to wait?

I would think you would hang out to see if there was any track bias for the later races you would want to wager on.....and that takes amazing discipline .
Any dope can occupy themselves by betting every race. Its the folks that can wait it out that I admire, because I know how hard that is, with the temptation to find some action....even if its not a good race to bet.
