Tomorrow there is RANGERS/PENGUINS betting. Pitt favored by around -150.
Both teams going without their number 1 goalies.
Pitt has averaged over 4 goals a game for last 4 games.
Over 5.5 looks good to me....anyone have contrary views???

Also, San jose Vs La.......I am not sold on Jones. He gave up 3 goals yesterday. Saturday. If he plays I would expect him to get a barrage. La is down, and SJ got what they came for which is a win on LA ice.
    Mission acomplished for LA.
LA will be physical and motivated to ramp it up and get a win. Jones has the lasy game playoff experience...thats about it.

I am using the above 2 in a parlay
    Pitt over, LA win

willing to be convinced otherwise though

Most years there is a "hot" team in pursuit of the stanley cup.
Looks like this year it could be Pittsburgh.
Amazing come from behind win on the road last night.

I dont bet futures, but on any given game agasint the rangers, I cant go against them.

Interesting game stl vs chi today. Stl let one get away in chi and now has home town advantage for game 7.

Chicago has all the stats going for them , but they are 2-2 in game 7s in recent history.

Stl is a slight fave last i looked....its close to an even proposition.

I think Stl defense will prevail in the end. I have a small bet on Stl,

as it turned out the STL defense won out....it was soooooooo close though.

However when it comes to betting even hockey teams....I tend to go with the better defense

Even though STL had a poor 7th game record.....I still liked them.

    Today, NYI/tampa//,,,I like the over.
Their past games have alot of goals.
The playoffs are generally more tactical rather than wide open hockey, Iknow. But I will be in reno today, and will go withthe over.

In the other game Nash/anaheim....Ducks have a recent history of losing deciding games at home. So their hometown advantage is out the window,
I still think they win. After losing the first 2 at home, ducks are 3-1. If i was betting this game, slight lean on anaheim.

    Dallas/stl

the Dallas goal tending is not championship level. They are going to have to outscore their opponent, raher than goaltend their way to the next round.

Aint gonna happen with a bigger more physical STl team.

On any given game in this series either home or away, I am going with Stl.

As I predicted with stl/chi....I felt the better defense of Stl would overtake the champs(chicago)

Dallas beat Minny which is not as big and strong defensively as STL.....this is a whole new animal for dallas

I would be surprised if dallas won this series.

    just my opinion

Dallas pulled goaltender and replaced with miemi......that is their week link.
Dallas can beat weaker defensive teams by outscoring them

I think ST louis is defensively too much.

St LOUIS split in dallas on the road...did what they neededto do....now has home ice advantage

Surprising about San Jose. Its seems their speed can overcome the great StL defense.
They have an amazing road record. And their goalie is doing rather well for someone who was never in playoffs before.
it will be nice to see Thornton get to the finals after all the years at SJ.

Also for game 6, Pitt is favored on the road. I dont see it.

the sharks have a better record on the road than at home. So even though home ice in hockey is less meaningful than in some sports like basketball or football......traveling for SJ is often a plus.
Both these teams are examples of the hot team at the end of the year. So many other teams had better years overall....but these 2 got hot at the right time.
I watch alot of SJ hockey since its local and I get all the games.
Jones can throw in a clunker.....being a newbie in the playoffs. It would be interesting to see how the penguins rookie goaltender does as well.
2 goalies in the biggest games with no experience in playoffs, let alone the finals.

I am the least informed in hockey from all the other sports, But I think Matt Murray is better than Jones. Both teams have speed. I am leaning toward Pitt.
For the first game I will go with Pitt., I think Jones might get some nerves with the combo of being on the road and the enormity of the game. He has shown to get a little skiddish.
    we will see

the pens still have their regular goalie. They gave murray the hook 3 games back. They can do it again.
2 goalies with no finals experience. They both at times in the playoffs have shown their inexperience.

we will see..I am siding with the pens because they have been there before and the sharks may just be happy to be there after 25 years of existence

but then again hockey isnt my first sport. Should be entertaining...2 speedy teams with scoring power.

They are my hometown team, and I would like to see THornton win here, because he has taken alot of criticism since coming from boston and never getting to a final. It must be over 10 years since he came over.

canadian kids are never ever just happy to get there.....most of us would give up a left nut to get their name on the cup....thornton and marleau probably realize this is their last chance and I think san jose is a much better team.....we'll see.

pretty entertaining game today. Was rooting for theteam I had the money on....even though SJ is the hometown team for me.

that first period was pretty intense.

I dont know how many pens have finals experience....but they sure seemed more intense and ready to start, and that ended up being the difference. The last numbers I remember was a lopsided shot on goal....something like 15-2 in first period.

I had the under as well,...just made it.

sharks have a real good road record, I think that if they dont get the next game......they could possibly lose one of the following 2 at the tank.....where they have a less impressive record.
I wont be near a sports book for the next game.....but if I had to bet, I would go with the more desperate team on the road where their road record is rather good. If not....and if Pens win...I think its a 5 game series.

before I left reno yesterday I put a small bet(along with my NBA and MLB bets) on reverse puckline on the pens.

    -1.5 pays +310

both goalies are subject to "off nights" being playoff rookies.......so we will see, Just a bet to keep my interest.

I stick with pens for the series

Won on the above. Today leaning on the over 5
for one big reason....if shrks are behind they will pull the goalie with 3 minutes to go. Thats almost a guarunteed extra goal...maybe 2.

Unlike the regular season where the goalied gets pulled with about a minute....This game is big.

If the pens are behind..they might do the same.....what the hell they have a game to play with.

So with t he opportunity to get an empty netter( or maybe 2) more easily in this situation...I am going with the over
