My wife the Beautiful AP and I go swimming at 6:30 am and on the way I drop by my local stationary store to buy the newspaper. There are five of the same people every morning buying lotto and scratch-off tickets.

These folks do not look as if they are rolling in money; they are (I'm guessing) strictly middle class senior citizens. Some spend a good $20 (or more) a day.

Then there are the occasional players. I see them a couple of times a week. These are mostly commuters rushing to get the train to Manhattan.

I live in a small village with two stationary stores and a liquor store that sells lotto and scratch-off tickets. I asked each owner how these tickets sell. Each one said some version of "great."

This is one of the worst possible bets.

So, other than "fun," why are these folks throwing away their money?

Years ago California commissioned a study analysis of the heaviest purchasers of lottos - they were the least well off and the state didn't know how to describe these heavy users - so they officially categorized them as "professional players." The vig on these devices makes the old mob numbers racket seem positively tame.

They are having cheap fun at gambling. If they get access to a casino, they will lose 10x of what they are doing now, at least.

Albalaha may be correct in his assumption.

It is not an assumption but a fact. When someone is busy into lotto kind of things having very remote chances to win anything, he can not be tempted much to bet huge. If such people gets to see roulette or baccarat kind of things where wins are closer to losses AND frequent enough they may get crazy and lose their pants.

It's still an assumption. They may get crazy; they may not. Also, we have no idea what percentage of lottery people go to casinos. We have no idea of how they bet. Spending $600 a month (as the ones I referenced) would easily be a day's worth of play in a casino. I could make the assumption that if they went to the casino with $600, they might not want to play the lotto.

    Nothing wrong with assumptions.

Speaking as someone who would play scratch offs when I lived in a non casino state and who now lives in a casino state with NO lottery. I NEVER buy lottery tix when I go to AZ or CA. NO interest. Not even the big multi state draw for those mega million$. My urge to gamble is stated by the casinos. I traveled to a non casino state a few weeks ago-the state did have the lottery. I also had NO interest. I gave it a fleeting thought, but did not want to buy even one. I realize this is anecdotal info, but since you were wondering and you're not doing a study...I must add that the trip was a VERY expensive one. So much so that it had killed my ability to play for the last two weeks and for the next four weeks. Mandatory family trip-wedding. Knowing I would be broke probably helped me decide against buying any lottery tickets. but I really didn't want any, either.

Playing lotto for some people is far more inexpense than hitting out at a regular casino. The odds for winning petite amounts are also better in lotto. Okay, I am no passionate lotto player but do take some scratch tickets or powerball once a while. I think it is better to play lotto online rather heading out to a kiosk. bb lottosignals has a bunch of online lotto where I occasionally play and usually win.

I think that if you buy tickets in a store, it will small chance to win. But you can use gslotto or other internet providers, where you can increase your chances

Through years of researching and practising, i finally find a method of buying pick 3 ,which can boost your odds and eliminate unnesseary numbers. It reqiures lots of statistics and understanding the 49% 65% odds. English is not my first language but i believe I can explain them clearly to sb I can trust.
To predict 10 nums in Three Drums, one actually don't have to pay attenton to them all. just 2 numbers are enough.
I am very anticipated to know sb who shares the great passion andinterst in pick 3 or 5.
