State and Federal demands on the casinos, such as increased taxes and healthcare requirements, are also a major factor too. Labor laws, Union deals, minimum wages, play their parts, and let us not forget Wall Street who most of the casinos are indebted too. Of course there is the usual graft and corruption that is always there, but it has its cost too. In a lot of ways, the players are setup to lose to just cover the cost of being in business.

 

And the greed; when do they draw the line with taking from us? We play in good faith and they don't give a fair game anymore.

The correct response is to not play when the casino is not offering a fair game.

So, some alternatives to gambling:

- Stay home and watch all 7 seasons of Stargate
- Sort though the stuff in your home that has accumulated for years on end.
- return to a hobby you once had and loved
- Read a book.

Of course if you are a degenerate gambler who is addicted to the action, then perhaps play Craps or double deck Blackjack. The house edge there is often smaller than degraded video poker.

Eventually, the casino suits will realize they F-up and return the video poker payouts to what is reasonable.
