Horse Racing Payout question

    Tia..
    i placed a bet on a horse to show. He finished 2nd so he showed. The win was at 4.2 for a $2 ticket. I had placed $50 on this.. how much money should I receive back INCLUDING. The original bet?

    Since horse racing is parimutuel, win, place and show prices are based on money bet so it is difficult to determine what should be paid. You bet your money, the track takes its piece (usually like 15%-18% for WPS) and then what is left is put into the various pools. And the track will also round down to the nearest nickle or dime.

    What was the show price? Your payment would be (SHOW PAYOUT/ 2) * $50 and this will include your original bet.
