You folks are going to argue with me regarding sports comps, and it's painfully obvious neither of you can place anything I reference in time. You have zero knowledge of historical context regarding comps. If you don't know that the tightening to a dollar for 240 to 500 wagered occurred 25 years ago, why are you arguing? You should be embarrassed you don't know this stuff and can't place it in time. This is basic, any-AP-should-know stuff. It speaks to your lack of experience that you have no idea what occurred when.

And when I say that the Wynn offered me lunch if I bet 20K THAT DAY, you should get the gist of it without remedial explanations.

It's silly to engage you because you don't know anything.

The difference of course is that I get comps actively and can tell you not just exactly what the formula is for comp calculation, but what sort of comps I have received lately.

Sorry REDietz, but it seems like you're talking about the past in a tone of sepulchral awe ("The powers that be say....") starting to remind me of AxelWolf with his distant cobwebbed imprecise recollections of the past. AxelWolf has little idea what is going on in brick and mortar casinos these days, he rarely gets out of bed to do much, and concentrates more on online scams. It has been many years since he did anything at any Strip casino, let alone at a major. AxelWolf is a Vegas has been.

And your anecdotal story about being offered lunch if you bet 20K that day, well if your lunch was going to cost $200. then that would be right in the 1% neighborhood. Otherwise, who knows if this is just someone you were giving a hard time in the casino who reacted to just blow you off because he wasn't taking you seriously and wanted you to go away.

Actually, I know a sports bettor who bets DAILY at one of the majors on the Strip, and does nothing else but bet on sports (no table games, nothing besides sports betting). I'll ask exactly what gets in comps, that should settle this issue. Straight from the horse's mouth of someone who is actually doing it daily.

Whether any of us know or don't know what sports betting comps were or were not in the distant past, sure that's interesting, but what the comps are today is what matters, and it doesn't sound like you're the one to ask as to what those comps today might be.

If he knew, then he would have already posted the info, instead of whatever he's claiming to have posted.

$1 comps for $100 bet is 5x as liberal as what CET is offering for slots.

Sports betting has been around much longer than Caesars Rewards...Gary Loveman left Harvard for Vegas in 1998.

So the casinos absolutely knew which was more beatable...sports betting or slots.

I think REDietz missed his calling in life - he should have been a politician. No matter what is asked of him he comes back with a roundabout misses the point never quite lies but never quite answers explanation that leaves everyone wondering what just happened. Sometimes lapses into "I remember when" reminiscences that no doubt are intended to try to show that he's just plain folks and not putting on airs.

And name drops like crazy, he is the KING of the name droppers (although...exact names are rarely mentioned, mostly it is some sort of reference to a second cousin's nephew or friend of a friend (of a friend) which may not be questioned (or verified)). Whatever we've all done, wherever we've all been, let's face it, REDietz did it first, and was there before us.

Never under estimate the advantage of being personable with the table crew. Talk about inoffensive subjects and shared living experiences with an occasional, self-deprecating joke. They appreciate the change from what can be a boring job and that can lead to an unexpected dinner comps.
