Button: All pairs, A2s+, K2s+, Q5s+, J8s+, A2o+, K5o+, Q9o+, J9o+, 54s+, 64s+, and 87o+, these hands account for 41% of all hands. The button position is the most flexible. If there are more people sneaking in in front, you can discard some big and small cards of different suits such as K8o and A7o, but you can add some flush cards such as T7s.

Blinds): Although the big and small blinds have a discount for entering the pot, their position is worse than that of the front position. The principle of the big and small blinds should also be to try to avoid entering the game. You can refer to the previous standards.

The above are the cards you can use to open the hand when no one raises. Generally speaking, if you are the first in the pot, you raise, no matter what your hand is. Unless you can explain clearly the reason for not raising. If someone has raised before and entered the game, you have to be tighter; if there is a raise and re-raise before, your choice in any position should not be lower than QQ+ and AK. In a relatively tight and conservative game, you may only have AA. /KK.

If you follow this list strictly and play small to medium stakes live, you will generally be one or two of the tightest guys at the table. With my current style, I'm playing a little looser than this, and I'm a little more profitable than when I just played these hands. However, I think keeping the starting hands in each position in mind is an effective way for beginners to get started.

At that time, I deliberately forced myself not to look at my cards and pay attention to the reaction on the table. When it came time for me, I first recalled the standard of my starting hand, then looked at the cards, and immediately threw away the cards that did not meet the standards. This seemingly rigid training lays a solid foundation for future progress.

It should be noted that position is a big topic. It is difficult for this article to cover everything about position in just a few thousand words. The recommended starting hands are just my personal preferences and a list that works well for me.

It is entirely possible that other styles and other starting hand lists will work, but for novices, it is consistent with the understanding of things to stick to a tighter style and slowly figure out the game with minimal risk.

We have all played the rock-paper-scissors game. Playing with children, you can observe his methods, find out his tendencies, and use strategies to control them. When you restrain him, your own strategy also has loopholes, but the child is too weak to attack you.

With a world-class master, the best strategy is to find a random number generator and play cards purely randomly with a probability of one-third each time. This will ensure that you can tie with him, but you can't beat him. Sometimes your strategy is a "balanced" strategy. With a balanced strategy, you have no loopholes. Your opponent cannot beat you, but you cannot beat your opponent either.

Poker is similar to guessing games, and is also divided into such "loophole" strategies and "balanced" strategies.

A strategy with loopholes cannot be balanced; a balanced strategy must have no loopholes. But poker and boxing are not exactly the same. In the guessing game, there is only one balancing strategy, which is to randomly play cards with a one-third probability of rock, paper, scissors.

At this time, no matter how your opponent plays, you can't beat him. But in poker, there are infinite kinds of balancing strategies: from the perspective of the amount of bluffs, some are aggressive and some are soft; from the perspective of the amount of money put into the pot, some are loose and some are tight; Looking at the differences in playing styles in different positions, there are those who focus on position and those who focus on card strength (disrespecting position)... All these can be regarded as differences in style.

For example, what is balance when playing preflop under the gun (UTG)? If you only raise AA and KK, and the others flat call or fold, it is not a balanced play. Because in the eyes of your opponent, as long as you raise, you must be AA/KK.

When your opponent limits your cards so hard, it's hard for you to make money from him. If your opponent can't beat your overpair on the flop, he won't put any more money into the pot. You have to include some big hands in your raising range that are not pairs, such as AKs and AKo.

This is not safe. If the flop comes out with a low card and there is a possibility of a draw, such as 876, or three spades, he will know that the flop does not help you, and you will be easily bluffed. You must also add some hands in your raising range that are easier to handle in the early position, such as small and medium pairs 22-TT.

In addition, it is best to add some suited connectors, such as 76s, so that when the flop comes 543, you may have a chance to get the nuts, or pretend that you have the nuts.

But now comes the question, if your UTG raising range includes all pairs, all AK, and all suited connectors, because there are far more combinations of small and medium pairs and suited connectors than big pairs, facing 8- With 9 opponents who have not responded yet, your average hand strength is relatively weak.

Now it is safer for you to raise UTG, because your hand strength is strong on average, enough to withstand the average strongest hand of all remaining opponents, and you also have certain weak hands to make your opponent unpredictable.

However, the problem still exists, because you always raise with a big pair, so when you flat call, you won't have AA/KK. This is also a loophole, and an observant opponent will raise when you flat call, forcing you to fold.
