We are a wonderfully imaginative species that sees patterns in random data.

Probability is a mathematical concept inherent in the tossed dice.

There are 36 possible one-dimensional dice outcomes for the tossed dice. These thirty-six outcomes are the only ones that are meaningful in the play of the game of craps, because they define the outcome of the toss. These outcomes result in the win or loss of the bet(s) made on the outcome.

In about the fifth grade, we are taught about probability, using commonly understood examples. The simplest of these is the flip of the coin. Two possible outcomes, 50% chance of "winning". NO chance of "controlling" or "influencing" the outcome.

The second example of probability in our fifth grade science class is the tossing of the dice, the SAME thing we do playing the game of craps. 36 possible outcomes and 11 possible numeric results. Not at all equally likely, but all possible, with distinct probabilities. AGAIN, it is understood in the discussion of "dice tossing" that "influence"/"control" do not compute.

With both flipping and tossing, there will be variability precisely because probability dictates variability.

SOME people are gullible. They can be persuaded to spend money to learn how to toss dice more effectively.

    Other people ae less gullible.

My only problem with 'setting the dice' is delay of game. I do use the delay to make sure my betting pattern is on the table.

I get what you're saying—there’s no true "control," but skilled players can subtly influence the dice with practice and precision. While it won’t make anyone rich, it can add a slight edge and enhance the game as a hobby. Casinos know this and let small wins slide because the majority will still lose in the long run. As for full-time pros making six figures? Highly doubtful—casinos aren’t that naive!
