The best online poker players are those who have taken the extra time to track their profits and losses to see if they have experienced a leak in their poker game. Great online poker players will make changes to their game to make sure they avoid these leaks, or create new strategies to get rid of them altogether.

Many new players don’t understand that they may be experiencing a leak in their poker game but just believe that it all has to do with luck and never try and figure out how they can solve this problem. But being able to identify when you made a bad choice while playing poker online or in live games in this case is the difference between winning money and losing your shirt.

If you want to succeed, you need to track your gains and losses over a long period of time, which will allow you to better understand your strengths and weaknesses at the poker table. The first thing you need to do is keep a record of all the games you play. You definitely want to keep track of how much you win and lose as well as the amount of time you play each time. If you play poker online, there is a lot of software out there that can help you follow this information.

Keeping all of our results in one place is important, you don’t want a bunch of loose paper just sitting around ready to disappear. If you don’t want to invest in a good software program, you can always use an excel spreadsheet to keep your records, this can be just as effective. If you are not at the computer, you can put it on a piece of paper and then use you add that information at another time. Tracking your profits and losses will also help you track our poker bankroll better and help you avoid playing with high amounts. Use this information to better track your winnings and you will continue to be a better poker player in no time.

Hopefully the above tips can help you a little in improving your Poker skills.
