    My kayak trip went well.

I'm thinking my point is being lost. There is a difference between showing people the maths to calculate something and telling them the results of a calculation they cannot do themselves. A BIG difference!

Here's the first three pages of the MATHS Appendix from my book as example.

When I published my book on progressive video poker, I not only published my conclusions, I included the exact peer reviewable and repeatable equations that lead me to all my conclusions. Every word I spoke can be fact checked with a calculator, pad, and pencil.

In the words of Jesus, "If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he will have a much more plausible cover story the next time he cheats on his wife."

I'm assuming we have a stable of smart people in this thread that appreciate puzzles (of which baccarat is but one). Here's a puzzle which requires the exact same type of reasoning needed to decipher baccarat. It is of my own creation. Googling won't get you anywhere.

Only two people I know have ever solved it. They were both well over 160 IQ.

If you want to prove you are smart...here's your big chance!

    --------------------------------------
    The Puzzle

The following puzzle is designed to rate someone on their reasoning skills and reveal how they solve problems. It is easy to solve if you think in a particular way, and impossible to solve otherwise. The reason for this dichotomy is that the solution requires a seamless blending of simultaneous multiple and divergent thought processes. Think juggling cats.

It is beyond the ability of roughly 98% of the population regardless of education or intelligence. In psychometrics, it would fall under the category of “G” rating. G covers the questions on a IQ test that do not test for preexisting knowledge, and require intuitive thinking to solve.

You should time yourself and show work. Getting the answer right is important, but the method you use to solve it is equally important. Simply giving the answer without showing how you got it, would be considered a fail. The record for solving this type of problem is about 20 min.

    Good luck.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    • THE SET UP

There are 5 adjacent residences each made of a different material.

In each resides a man of a different race who owns them.

Each owner has a preferred beverage.

Each of the five people has a preferred weapon, and keeps a single type of animal as a pet, or for food.

None of the owners has the same animal, fights with the same weapon, nor consumes the same beverage.

    ADDITIONAL CLUES
    1. The Dane lives in the Grass Hut.
    2. The Norman has a Tiger.
    3. The Viking drinks Mead.
    4. The Cloth Tent is to the left of the Brick House.
    5. The owner of the Tent likes Ale.
    6. The person that uses a Long Sword has a Cow.
    7. The owner of the Tudor house uses a Long Bow.
    8. The person in the middle residence drinks only Water.
    9. The Brit lives in the first residence.
    10. The person that fights with a Mace, lives next to the one that keeps Horses.
    11. The person with the Pig lives next to the one that is an Archer.
    12. The one that fights with a Rapier drinks Wine.
    13. The Goth has a Battle Ax.
    14. The Brit lives next to the guy with the Mud Hut.
    15. The person that fights with a Mace, has a neighbor that drinks Guinness.

The question to be answered is: “Who keeps sheep?”

    -----------------------------------------------------

I will post the answer in one week.

    The record is 20 minutes?

I didn’t actually time myself, but I’m quite sure I did it in my head in less than 10 minutes.

I have a pretty decent memory though if I close my eyes and don’t physically stare at a problem. Rubik’s cubes, and mind twister type puzzles usually come pretty easy. This was fun little puzzle; or more of a riddle if you will.

No point in waiting a week.

    The answer is the Goth.

I don’t really know how to show my work, you essentially gave me the answer, I just had to move them around in a process of elimination sorta way.

In the end, you’re able to piece together all of the elements to the equation and know where each person lives, their race, weapon, animal.

In this final solution: the Goth lived in a tent, drinks ale, uses a battle axe and has sheep.

And subsequently, I was able to put everyone in their rightful place.

    Cheers!

In my opinion and based on their results the 2 greatest baccarat players alive are:

    1 Christopher Mitchell
    2 MDawg

Both are millionaires who can win at ease. The only difference is Christopher sells his system and has posted his experiences on YouTube while MDawg keeps a lower profile and doesn’t look to expose how he beats the game at will.

    Hey @Stephen Tabone

Frank has always been kind to you on this board. He worked very hard putting together that puzzle. I thought it might be respectable on your part to at least acknowledge him and his work inquiry that he presented. In his comment, he said that solving the puzzle requires the exact same reasoning as deciphering baccarat—and I have to agree. Since you are the greatest system creator on earth, I thought this might be a good puzzle for you to solve and show us all how incredible your mind works.

Granted, I realize that I solved it already and so at this juncture, it doesn’t matter, because you probably could have figured it out as well, yeah?

Thing is, I was just curious if you would give us a little demonstration of your brilliance. Even though I’ve already solved it and gave a pretty good explanation of how I did it, there are a few easy components about it that could still be listed. What race lives where and what drink and weapon and animal they have. It seems ridiculous that I’d ask you to piece that together for us since I’ve already done the hardest part of getting to the end. But could you humor all of your adoring fans and make a wholesome and legit attempt at gaining more? I just want a small ounce of proof that you are capable of abstract thought. I want to believe in you. I hate that I’m such a skeptic, but you’ve got to admit that all you’ve done is talk, this is a really easy way for you to prove something. Again, I already shown the answer and explained how I got there. Just fill in the small blanks. Hell, if you can do it in the next 4 hours I’ll even update my Amazon review on your book and replace it with “I think Stephen is brilliant.”

    That’s my word.

    • Violation of Rule #1: Be Respectful
    Jae,

I know Stevie from other boards years ago. He starts off neutral and nice. Then hammers most everyone, attempts to become number 1 and rule the board. You know the rest............

    Always the exact same............

He ALWAYS does the proxy reviews, likes, and purchasing thing, ALWAYS!!!

The whale thing is new and we all know it is a con. The game can not ever fall to a mechanical system of any type.

What he did here he will probably blame on others that hate him, that is Stevie the con.

Stephen well Actually he’s cyclical. He normally hit a forum around the same time each year for a few weeks, drumming up a bit of biz, laying on the controversy with a trowel, has a few war of words but usually slinks off after awhile. Usually when posters stop posting to his last post and or thread.
You can check out his efforts here around this time last year and gizmotron mostly was the anvil that bent him out of shape on that occasion before he posted no more. Until this time around.
As I saw this year’s promotion was almost verbatim to last year promotional infomercial , I basically didn’t reply much to his posts, ala Groundhog Day, in doing so I was hoping less responses means quickly he leaves. This year more than the odd few took a bigger stick to the situation. Some funny, some uncalled for nasty and now just monotonous and boring, we only have one life , guess some people get tunnel vision and hit the nose dive then the g force just keeps it going into the ground. Splat painting the playground lol.

In some perverse way all the attention be it negative or positive even neutral seems to trigger his “I’m being recognised neediness” and he blindly carries on. Talk about no situational awareness skills.
Don’t reply to posts is the usual and best response.

No disrespect to the other book seller here that posts about bj count etc, but he posts on occasion, his threads are viewed but no one posts there. Personally I find his posts strange but see no reason to reply as they are non offending posts as a whole.
    Etc etc etc.
    cheers

    Glad you liked it.

You solved it like a rubik cube in your brain. Did you notice the trip up after the obvious process of elimination?

    Just curious?

That's what stymies most people they use process of elimination and then never switch to permutational thinking to finish.
