The Thucydides Trap theory espouses that a present power when threatened by an emerging power will go to war.

Will it end this way? I hope not...

I had to look it up.

I have been watching the change in China for over 30 years. My Father was one of those daring pilots that flew C-46 and C-47 cargo planes over the Himalayas into and out of China during WWII. The Chinese people can endure more hardship than Americans can. I don't think it will come to a guns & bombs war. I believe it will be some kind of economical war. There might be some war mongering to use up war supplies and materials in small skirmishes, good for both military complex politics. It's just a chess game for money. Everyone has their sacred cows and their own sycophants to keep in line. As long as China and/or America does not run out of other people's money then what we have now will probably keep going.

Too far gone to normalise relationship. Big aggressive moves by American companies and her allies to realign the global supply chain away from China.

A recent PEW survey stated 73% of Americans dont trust China.
