Video Poker What is the right decision here?

    It's impossible to give a definitive answer without the game's payoff table. It depends on what game you're playing. On FPDW or NSUD the best play is to hold the five-of-a-kind, but if that payoff is shorted then hold just the deuces. Of course on Double or Triple or Loose Deuces you should hold just the deuces.

    It depends on how you, the player, have been doing though the day. If my bankroll has taken a beating then I would have taken the 5-k. If I have been only slightly down or breaking even then I would have held the 3-deuces. Pay tables have a lot to do with it, though I think it all comes down to emotions with a hand like that.

    The payoff was 3750 coins which means the 5K payed 15 for 1. So you made the right choice. In Double, Triple, or Loose Deuces you should go the other way.

    Playing by emotion can be very costly in the long run. The payoff table should always be the deciding factor.
