Let the record show I hope that's not the case. I love that you have won and hope you keep winning. Just don't put all your eggs in one basket.

BTW: I know quite a few VP PROS that did so well their first year or three they just assumed their income was all skill based and came to expect that level of success indefinitely. Then suddenly the worm turned.

Since progressive VP is a game with a mathematically provable edge bad luck rarely results in total giant losses, but negative fluctuation can certainly take a bite out of your profit. I myself had one year where I only made $1800 for the entire year!!!:( (Oh the horror)

I had another bad run playing Triple-Meter-Progressives in Lake Tahoe (RF-SF-4K) and NEVER got a Royal Flush. Believe it or not I still managed to make $4,800 on those machines due to the fact I was mostly playing for high Straight Flushes. But still, I came out about 1/10th of the expected earn. When I finally did hit a Royal it was a full-on-slap in the face. I played for 27 hours for a Royal that went over $29,000...then the following week played the same bank and it went to $19,000 (NO-RF's) and then finally hit my Royal the next day on that same bank while paying for a high Four-of-a-Kind. It was $4250. Oh and I didn't hit the dam 4K I was playing for.

The BIG issue is for a FULL-TIME PRO breaking even doesn't pay the rent. I have seen Progressive VP PROS that straddled themselves with a $8,800 monthly nut. Just running bad enough to breakeven for a few months is a death sentence.

My Advice to you is simple: DON'T COUNT on continuing to run the way you have in the past, and especially don't make decisions that REQUIRE you to run the same way into the future. As long as you plan for the worst there is no reason not to chase the best. A good rule of thumb is to keep your BR separate from your living money and keep that reservoir large enough to live on for two years.

BTW: That's actually what they recommend for small business ownership as well.

Buckle up and drive safe. Good Luck too.

To play Devil’s Advocate for a second, I don’t think we can completely discount baccarat on the premise that if baccarat were beatable no casino would offer it. So long as enough people were losing to make up for the people who were winning it would still be a viable game for a casino.

I am reminded of 678 Two-Pair or Better Joker Poker, which was a straight up win WITHOUT THE ROYAL & about a 2.5% edge overall. The catch, you had to play correct strategy and none of the citizens did. In fact the strategy was so mind boggling they averaged making about 8% in errors, which was more than enough to make up for the scant few PROS that were playing them.

In Laughlin, “Downtown Jim” and “Dennis the Hat” had free run of 678 Two-Pair or Better Joker Poker on the dollar level for nearly five years, before Bradley Davis published a book on JKR Poker and clued people into how good 678 Two-Pair or Better Joker Poker was and how to play it.

678 Two-Pair or Better Joker Poker lasted exactly one more year, and now cannot be found in any casino. The last to go was a single machine not in the casino in the back of the Sahara near a doughnut shop.

    -----------------
Rather than making the case that if it were beatable casinos wouldn’t offer it, I think the more valid argument is the issue falsifiability.

In video poker one can verify their edge by using math irrespective of results, without ever having to walk into a casino or playing a hand. Doing a game return by hand used to take about six months (before computers)...but six months is still doable using that method. I can’t even fathom how long it would take by watching over people’s shoulders that were playing.

In baccarat, the main way people seem to “verify” their strategies is by actually PLAYING BACCARAT in a casino—or by going over prerecorded shoes. Even if one used the later safer method the number of shoes that would be required for statistical relevance is daunting. By “daunting” I mean, “not possible in a single human’s lifetime”.

I once sat down and figured out how long it would take to fact check each sect of Christianity and verify that a person was in the “best” possible version of the faith. The number I came up with is roughly Twelve-Hundred-and-Fifty-Four Years. (not counting the new faiths that would pop up in the interim)

I have not done a similar calculation for how long looking at your results or testing strategies on prefab-shoes would take to be certain of your assumptions for baccarat. I did a cursory evaluation and stopped once the number exceeded the breaths I have remaining in my life.

To paraphrase Wolfgang Pauli: I think the issue with most (not all) baccarat strategies is not that they aren’t right—they are not even wrong. ("Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig; es ist nicht einmal falsch!")

Life is too short to spend on things which may or may not even be something one should be doing in the first place.

I spent 30+ years earning a good living at professional progressive video poker, which was mathematically verifiable, and now have to live with the sad conclusion that if I’d spent as much time and effort doing almost anything else I’d have had a far better life.

I think there is lure to making money in a field where most are losing, and I think that ego often blinds us to the fact that while beating the casino certainly earns one bragging rights, the only people that would care, often aren’t worth the telling.

Just because something is possible is not always enough motivation to do it.

Baccarat is not beatable because Math says so. Overcoming house advantage of 1.06% to 1.24% is not easy.
You can not beat it flat betting and progressions will increase your losses since your average bet size increases with progressions.

It is possible that a few are beating the game with large capital and spending lot of time in the casinos with team members.

I am into sports betting. You can bet entire day because some match is taking place somewhere in the world. I switch to casino game of baccarat periodically.

A sure and easy way to make money in baccarat is selling baccarat systems in ebay and Amazon.

Sports betting and horses are a far better way to win despite the fact that there is a house handle on it. You’re basically playing against other players and you are your own bank.

I fear that you are correct, though I would add that while "sure & easy" it is not additionally unethical, so long as you truly believe your system has merit. I have known a lot of baccarat players, including my own mother, that were convinced they had a viable system that beat the game.

Only, if one were to deceive someone, would it rise to the level of malfeasance.

Caveat: The person being deceived cannot include yourself. Cognitive distortion is the rule in life, not the exception. We all deceive ourselves each and every day. Self deception only crosses the line when one sees truth and fails to share it, and still thinks they are a good person.

Agreed. I have bought so many just for information purposes. Just because something doesn’t work all the time doesn’t mean it’s a scam. There are a few (actually a lot) of people that sell systems that I think believe that theirs works. The ones that are deceitful make honest ones look bad. That being said, I haven’t bought one that worked all the time ever but have put my own twist on things to make them work.

If your system still has this major problem of sequences of death as you call them, why do you say your system is finished and done. If you still have this problem with death sequences it's far from done. You still have lots of work to do. You have to be able to see in the outcomes the times when you should not be playing and avoid the death sequences.

You are such a whining little girl. You came here and made up what you think is in the thread and told people what is in that little inane mind of yours that is almost 100% sophistry. You just made it up. You have no idea why I said the thread is done. You have no idea what I explained in the thread is and the only way for it to lose and why. Yet you come on here and say that you can dish it out with the best of them. You are a liar. You are clueless. Yet that does not stop you from attacking something you have never bothered to find out what it is. It's all made up. The implication of your secret system is that you wait for it to be playing your game. SO? Big deal. You haven't got a single example for it to be tested. Normally that is enough to get a claimer like you dumped on. But you came in here riding on my coattails claiming it is all your idea. I did all the heavy lifting long before you rode in. So get off my back. If you start a thread I will live for one purpose and that is to prove that you are a liar and a thief.

Once again you rant and Rave and explain nothing. Why do you take the time to write so many empty posts. So much hatred so much vehemence and for no apparent reason. You said your RR was done and finished. Implying there was nothing more that could be added to it. That's not what you meant?

Hey control freak. I explained everything. Nobody here has been given special treatment and given individual instructions. Why are you so special? Is it that you bitch about it to the point of being so obnoxious that you earn the right to be treated like you do. No. No to you. You will not get a special explanation. Now nobody else has come along and exploded on me like you have. They look in the thread and figure it out for themselves. They have all been treated with at least civility until you came along with your demands. It's like if I don't answer all your questions then it's my fault for you being so high and demanding. Well you can chew on this Spike. I hope you really drop dead and go to hell. That a system that you have fucked up all the way to the maximum. Drop dead. You won't get explanations that have already been given in a thread that is already completed. I don't care what you say. Your words are like evil. You are evil.

If I have to go away to get away from you then I will. But I would love to hunt you down and face you. You are evil.

Once again you have demanded explanation and special treatment while contributing known worthless advice. In fact you have deliberately attempted to lead others in lies long after the horse has left the barn. You're not making any sense. You need to try harder to make sense. You need to read your own posts to see that it makes no sense. And for decades it has been this way. You still reading sucker? You don't make sense. Your advice does not make sense. You need psychiatric help. You are anal-retentive, you don't make sense. Got it yet? You still do not make sense. Why did you come here to only make a fool of yourself. Nobody likes you. That makes sense.
