Beyond resolving my Mommy issues it would be nice to walk away from all our discussions with a sort of formula for evaluating baccarat strategies that didn't involve playing the game to know if what you're doing has merit.

I RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS MY GOAL AND NOT ANYONE ELSE'S.

I will stop asking. So let it be written so let it be done...

Thanks again to all, even for the occasional criticism. Some of it was spot on.

I'm spared of your continuous off topic rants that have nothing to do with this thread or the game.

Frankly Frank, though I do have empathy for your struggle and do wish you well in your journey to find some sanity I find your existence here rather duplicitous.

By that I mean you use Baccarat discussion as a ruse to talk about yourself and your neurosis.
You write "Beyond resolving my Mommy issues it would be nice to walk away from all our discussions with a sort of formula for evaluating baccarat strategies that didn't involve playing the game to know if what you're doing has merit."

What a load of crap, Frank! You profess to have so much knowledge and experience with the game and you haven't figured out that in lieu of some fixed bet placement that can be evaluated with a simple algorithm it's a guessing and betting game?

I could have missed it because I don't read all your stuff but where's your strategy Frank?

    Cheers

All gambling forums are the same, if everything doesn't go exactly like they want they piss and moan like 9 year old little girls. Everything has to be done by the book or they will cry like newborn babies. I like it when things go off topic that's when it gets interesting. There is no Holy Grail, almost nobody will beat the game they're playing, so all that crap is boring as hell.

If I have a choice of folks posting about baccarat, roulette or craps or folks posting about how many can goods they have or post about playing the violin or their mother, well it's a hard decision but I guess I'd take the first one. But then again that's just me.

Because there is just so much to be learned about gambling from people who have no idea what they're doing which describes about 75% of the people on any gambling forum. The only thing more boring then actually gambling is talking about gambling.

So you found a doctor to do your hernias operation? Did you have to go to Mexico to find him? When is it going to happen.

So far as my quest to find a formula to analyze a guessing and betting game it is for lack of a better term, "a load of crap". It was clearly a misguided attempt to understand why my mother derailed my entire life over this game...not about playing it myself. That is however rather uni-plicitous.

The good news is (with a fair amount of tears) I have come to terms with the fact she was an pathological gambler and I have decided to forgive her and move on.

What I have also learned is that I don't have a strategy and never will as playing this game requires intuition and a host of other skills my brain is not suited to learning. I am mildly autistic and while this makes me better at games like video poker, it's a severe handicap in games like baccarat.

So Jimske, I was basically agreeing with you on all points except for the duplicitous comment, which one could make a good case was also right, after a fashion, as I was lying to myself as to why I was posting here.

I was not however lying to you, and let the record show I came clean as soon as I soul searched and knew the real reason myself.

I'm very happy with what I've gotten from posting on this forum. I am sorry I wasn't able to contribute more to you.

I've already promised not to ask more question about baccarat. From now on I'll only be helping out answer questions in the AP VP and Slot threads.

You may considered the matter closed.

Yes and no. I am leaving Monday morning to go with my employer to His home state where he can get me medical insurance. His satellite non-profit which I work for here in NV does not have the infrastructure to accomplish this.

So it's an ongoing process with steps yet to be completed, but I'm making some forward progress.

With any luck I should be getting the surgery soon. It's gotten REALLY bad...lemon sized.

Thank you for asking and take care.

Sorry about that. It was only relevant because my mother cheated me out of my violin career to cover her baccarat losses. But that is only tangentially and vaguely related to baccarat.

No worries, I'm just saying goodbye to everyone so you won't have to fade anymore off-topic posts from me.

Oh I don't know spike...I probably like talking about it more than doing it.

Let's stay in touch and if I survive these next few weeks you're always welcome to visit me in Vegas. I still get comps:)

Peace out all. May the force be with you.

Frank, hernia surgery is pretty easy (just snip, snip) so you will come through it with no problem. You don't want to pay out of pocket for it, though, so find some way to get an insurance company to pay for it if you can.

Maybe you could look up E Clifton Davis when you're there? He can teach you a LOT about Baccarat. You can play in Tunica (a place I have frequented) with him on their $5 games. :) Are you too young for Medicare? From what state? You are better off in your state of residency. Good luck, you'll need it.

You never did say what type of Hernia you have. I suppose it is Inguinal which is most common. I had one and got it repaired laparoscopically. My advice is to get some professional advice outside of a gambling forum!

My brother is on Medicaid and it is generally very hard to get. You need the ironclad approval of usually more than one doctor and they will usually turn you down the first time you apply. This is why there are Medicaid attorneys who will fight for you.

Of course! Good luck with your insurance search. Meanwhile the majority of the developed world is reading this and scratching their head. "The procedure should be at little or no cost to you. Do you not have a National Health Service?" ;)

No cost to you is such a blatant falsehood. Of course any National Health Service costs its citizens boatloads of money in taxes. Nothing is ever free.

I knew that was coming. :) As a recently retired health care professional I have seen the inflated costs up close and in detail. I have concluded that our health care system should probably be at least a non-profit enterprise. Maybe even a right of citizenship. I have seen so many patients skip the care and medications that they need due to costs that would be incurred.

My wife has a relative who has Canadian and US dual citizenship and has something wrong with them the Canadian Healthcare will not treat because it's too expensive. So they have to come down to the United States periodically to get treatment. If they need an MRI they come to the States because the wait time is just too long in Canada. People who love the National Health Care in their specific countries are the ones that never have to use it.
