In fact math is a hindrance to winning because it'll just confuse you. Making correct educated guesses in roulette has absolutely nothing to do with math and everything to do with experience.

To the math centric it's heresy. Their hair will catch on fire when they are made to see it. One day they will see it.

Plenty of people here use maths to explain why the masses cannot win at roulette.

Spike/Gizmo/ND as we can see above and on previous pages, disagree with this.

What would the three of you say, if somebody claimed that they won at roulette using maths ??????

Only a questions guys, not looking to stir up a hornets nest here :)

This is not true. Please find one post where somebody used math to explain why I cannot win at roulette. There isn't one. Their whole theory is nobody can accurately guess correctly more often than not the next random outcome. Math has nothing to do with it.

    @ Norman Fletcher.

Be advised that Nathan Detroit did not make any reference to math in the last 3 pages of this topic.

Find a post where they detail the math and give the reason that the masses can't win at roulette. You won't find one. All you will find is that if you bet randomly against random outcomes you will lose. They never show with math that you cannot develop a method of guessing that will give you the edge over the casino

"Sure, you might get a few people who come out ahead but almost nobody beats the house in the long run.

    Why the casinos win?
How do the casinos always win? Well, it’s largely down to two things:

    • For each bet you win, the casino pays slightly less than ‘fair’ odds
    • The Law Of Large Numbers says that, if you run an experiment often enough, the mean of the outcomes will converge onto the ‘true’ mean of the experiment
Quick note: The Law Of Large Numbers - which is actual, proper maths - isn’t the same thing as the Law Of Averages - which isn’t; the law of averages says ‘I’ve been losing a lot recently, so I’m bound to win soon to make up for it’, as if there’s some kind of God of the roulette wheel who’d notice you were losing and say ‘oops! my bad, let me balance that out.’ There isn’t.

Now, as it happens, winning and losing over a certain number of spins on the roulette wheel is a perfect example of a binomial distribution - the probability of winning is fixed, the spins are independent, and you have a fixed number of trials. One nice thing about the binomial distribution is that if you do enough trials - more than 30 or so - you can model it as a normal distribution, which is a bit easier to work with.

I’m going to talk about red and black here, but you can do the same experiment with any of the bets available on the roulette wheel.

On a European wheel, there are 18 black and 18 red numbers, plus a green 0 which is what makes the casino its money. If you were to bet one chip on red 37 times, you’d expect to win 18 times and lose 19 - on average, you lose one chip every 37 spins, or about 2.7%. That doesn’t sound like much, does it?"

Why are you being like this Spike ? You know exactly what I'm getting at, house edge/unfair payout etc.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm not and never had said that you don't win, all I did was ask a question.

Why don't you answer my question, and/or leave me alone.

Christ, never meet your heroes right.

It has nothing to do with you, it's that statement that people are always making that math people the proven that you can't beat roulette. That always sets me off cuz it's just not true they have proven no such thing. Whenever anybody makes that statement I always ask them what I asked you to please provide the examples of where math people have shown that roulette cannot be beaten. So don't take it personally.

Typical ridiculous article. The casinos don't always win, there are lots of people who beat the casinos on a regular basis. All the math mentioned in the article depends totally on betting randomly against random outcomes. So of course the casino will win eventually because the payouts are unfair. All you have to do is tweak the edge just a little bit and now you are the winner in the casino is the loser. Both the math and the casino totally depend on you betting randomly. They are totally lost when you figure out how to read the random outcomes and know when to bet and when not to bet. They will hate your guts because you are beating them at their own game.

Here is a question for Spike, in an email exchange many years ago, I suggested using a "normal" labby, 1-1-1-1-1 to win 5 units, at around this time, Spike was incessantly banging on about processing a 72% strike rate betting the EC's.

He got back to regarding the Labby, basically he shit his pants when it got out of control.

So he is my question, how come somebody with a 72% strike rate, struggled using a negative progression which requires a 33% + 1, or +5 in this particular case win rate??

Another lie from the pathological liar. I never used that term in my life 'shitting my pants'. And where are these mystical emails, you can't produce them because they don't exist. What do you hope to accomplish by these constant character assassinations, that the casinos will stop paying me for winning? Guess what dog turd, played at two casinos tonight and won 2 units and they paid me, they acknowledged that I can beat them at roulette. Something you'll never do. Live with it.

I didn't think you would answer the question. I used the term "shit your pants", of course I deleted your emails after you told me your unit size was $1, sorry I know your getting pretty old, aren't we all, but I haven't littered gambling boards with lies for close on 2 decades, I never ripped off anybody, as you posted over at WoV, "I'm the real deal" ;-)

All you can beat is an egg.

Lucky for you that you protected yourself. If it had been more you might of kept listening. BTW, Lungyeh's unit size is $10,000. He told me when he offered me a $50,000 bankroll and travel expenses. It's all a matter of perspective. You know you will win or you don't. Superstition means that you are not sure. I once thought you knew how to win. But I'm not sure since you said many things about how Roulette works. I'm just guessing but I think you hold these things to be true of Baccarat as well. It's just a phase. Everyone needs to check out the magical beliefs on the way to getting experience. My favorite is knowing how the casino cheats you when your lose.
