I was really let down. Yeah, some funny moments but a very bland film, it did nothing for me.

It's a little sad. The only films I've shelled out $10 to see lately are my beloved Marvel comics flicks.

Both Civil War and Apocalypse share the same issue for a general audience. There are so many characters (most, but not all, established in earlier films) that if you're unfamiliar with the comics, it's too many to really follow. Guardians of the Galaxy also threw a lot at you. All were massive successes despite juggling umpteen characters.

I am looking forward to Dr. Strange.

The Civil War storyline is different from the original, but the characters are the same. The X-Men universe has been reconfigured via time travel in the movies. The film versions of the characters are in many ways better and more nuanced than the comic versions.

What blows my mind is the recent casting. Evans as Cap, Hemsworth, Downey, they are all exceptional. They nailed the characters. You can't do better than Fassbender as Magneto.

When casting goes awry -- nobody has gotten Dr. Doom right at all -- the films are a mess.

I get my "shits and giggles" in real time watching anything and everything with the one who really digs me. Hallmark Christmas movies, new releases, whatever. Life isn't lived well on the internet with strangers.

P.S. Yes, here I am on occasion. Perhaps it highlights those moments away from here.

Going to see Captain America: Civil War for a second time. Plot holes annoyed me the first time. Glad for $3 second run theater.

Will see Purge and Now You See Me next week. I know what I'm getting into.

Watched Whiskey Tango Foxtrot last night, pleasantly surprised, enjoyable. Whereas Demolition man was crap.

"Eye in the sky" is decent (about a UK drone attack). I'm sure America doesn't have these issues [GRIN]

LOL -- that'll keep me off Independence Day. I disliked the original. No sense being masochistic.

Quick note: two movies I really liked -- The Witch and Captain America: Civil War -- made USA Today's top five movies of 2016 to date. I was surprised. I guess my tastes are getting common.
