I happen to be a world class building contractor having built all over America and having dealt personally with all the crazy restrictions that local bureaucrats have created. I know all about the crappy workmanship that fell off the back of the truck when the invasion started. Maybe I should open a craftsman school, a computer programming school, and several other expertise that are hard to find teachers for. I see that qualified carpenter's are going to be in very short supply real soon. I like not having to work, but it is interesting to consider that somebody is going to have to teach Americans how to do things right.

Drastically loosen / eviscerate the tight environmental restrictions that made it economically unrealistic for smokestack industries such as steel, rubber and chemical to come into compliance.

The air is cleaner now in part because we've removed most of the worst polluting industries; they still make stuff, they just make it now in other countries.

They figured out how to clean the smoke stacks while they are working. I like clean air too. We cleaned the air. We cleaned the water. So now they have the fairy tale hoax to keep the EPA employed. If the Democrats could present a better candidate...that candidate would have won easily. However the corruption of the DNC hand in hand with the wink and a nod from Hillatry made sure that the outsider Jew had the system rigged against him.

Look how Hillary knew full well about hacking of large corporations like Sony with release of embarrassing material ....and she still had a personal server for govt communication.
Look how she poked trump supporters with a sharp stick....the "deplorables",,,,MOBILIZING THEM TO TAKE ACTION.
Look how her husband characterized the inequities in obamacare as" the craziest thing"
Look how a candidate for president was under FBI investigation still up to election day

After 30 years in public service.....I dont remember one commercial where she listed her resume of accomplishments.

To ensure a fair election, I would hope that trump and the republican party do what they need to do to ensure that the voting roles are clean. Clean of illegal voters...as it has been reported that millions of illegals voted.
Add to that ....the police chief of Los Angeles declared that he will not help deport illegals...he said its not his job.

So the Dems that need illegals to get their votes will fight the actions to clean up the voter rolls. But seeing how long it takes for shit to get done....that process has to start on day -1 of his presidentcy.

We were "great" on many occasions.

As relates to you, we were "great" iwhen we said "fuck isolationism" and came unconditionally to England's aid during WWII: but for America you'd be speaking German and goose-stepping your way through London town.

We peaked, i.e. were at our recent greatest in the sixties: from JFK through the moon landings.

Trump might yearn for the Reagan years as being "great," and that position is not without merit.

This country is still great for those willing to sacrifice.
There are still poor families that do what my parents did.
They provide a stable household, have children when they can afford it without going on welfare....work hard at menial jobs, long hours ....push the children to study and value education, do without in order to provide a better life for the future. But that means foregoing trips out drinking at the clubs, cable TV, and a multitude of gadgets. Instead it means more enjoyable weekends with the family at the park or the beach....free stuff.
You see many asian familes that come to this country use the above method to get a piece of the american dream.
While others think the american dream is to get a welfare check and moan and complain that generation after generation are victimized by "the man".

So america can be "great" for people willing to sacrifice and for people with discipline.

It hasnt changed in that respect from the ellis island years when my dad came over and did all of the above...like millions of others..he wasnt unique. And there are children of those immigrant parents like myself who continue to live the american dream, and who had the abilty to let my parents live the american dream even more as I got older, and financially sound.

The american dream is alive and well......but you have to go out and get it....you cant sit on your ass and hope it comes to you

I am willing to bet that there is a waiting list of people wanting to get jobs here in San Fran area for toll takers for the bridges here.
The opportunity to stand and make change in the middle of toxic fumes is no big deal for people. And I dont think one person in a car is calling their congressman and demanding that these poor people get enclosed booths with drawers to put your money like in a bank drive thru.
Of course that would back up traffic even more and no one wants that....so a little toxic fumes constantly inhaled for 8 hours a day is not that bad after all

And a smoke spewing factory is fine with me and everyone else...as long as its not in our back yard. Its like terrorist attacks....they arent that bad unless it happened in your neighborhood. Its like people who praise nuclear energy....again....as long as the reactor is out of range of where you live...preferably in another county.

I recall Reagan being elected, as when any Republican President is elected, we oversea residents worry about their potential of starting WW3, thankfully Reagan didn't. While I don't agree the Brits might have necessarily been speaking German today, however in a sense America IMO was great between the period Dec 1941 ~ Jul 1944, a period of 3.5 years.
