Don't forget his screen name on Vegas Casino Talk...it's Robsingerwho. I kind of feel bad for Rob. He also posts on Imgur as Wizardofvegas1.

That post is getting negative responses as anyone can imagine. Only one mod weighed in although they all had to have seen it.

How low can he go? I don't know. Has he hit on the widow yet?

If you look back, I believe that's exactly why he grossly exaggerated all this, he was trying to prove a point as to just how discipline a gambler he is/was, perhaps it also had to do with how a random shooter(not a DI) can get lucky. He just tossed out the number 18. He didn't think about just how improbable that was. When he got called out, instead of just saying he didn't know exactly how many it was, he stood firm.

Let's not forget how he was trying to prove a point, once again, when he claimed his son hit 3 - 5 single line Royals in one day (in 2 different states) AND STILL LOST MONEY.
"And still lost money" was the point he was trying to make after someone said they a Royal and still lost money. He needed to exaggerate to make his point.

I completely agree with this statement. I know that in my 14 years, and roughly a million hands of blackjack, play, I don't honestly know the largest number of hands in a row I have lost. I am going to say somewhere between 11 and 14. My problem is that by the time I realize that I have lost a number of hands, I am well into the 'streak'. I don't really know if I have lost 7 or 9 in a row. I would then have to try to go back over recent hands, sort of replay the tape in my mind...lol. And frankly why would I bother doing so. What benefit is there to that?

So I have had a handful of these 'streaks' where all of the sudden, I think, "geez, I have lost a bunch in a row, but is it 7, 8, or 9?" Or maybe just maybe I lost 8 and pushed one that I am not remembering. About the only time I can say with absolute certainty is when such a streak starts at the beginning of a session, in which case, even if you don't recall all the hand, just a quick accounting of your chips, can probably tell you how many rounds you lost.

But regardless, I always think these discussions are useless. What difference does it make how many hands I have lost in a row. I really want to spend zero amount of energy and brainpower, looking back and figuring it out. The only reason, I might possibly want to take note that I have been losing every hand, or nearly every hand, is to be extra vigilant to be sure dealer is not cheating me. I want to double up on the thing that I know of to look for.

Folks, now that this matter has been closed, we will be cleaning up this thread and moving the recent off-topic posts to the off-topic section in 24 hours so that this thread can get back on-topic.

Please note that since we do not waste time reading the posts of members who have been tagged as Compulsive Liars or who have otherwise lost our ear, we rely on you -- the community -- to report their rule violations. Even when reported, we will not waste time reading their posts, so we will take your word for it and issue them an immediate infraction (and move their post if warranted) based on your report. Please do not abuse this and only report their posts that actually violate any of our rules, including disrespectful posts, disruptive posts, trolling, flooding, bumping their own threads or posts, and off-topic posting. If you do not report their rule violations, then they may remain unsanctioned.

    Thank you.

I don't know how you want me to word it!

Absurdly, ridiculously, obscenely, infinitesimally and just outside of impossible?

    I can't call, "Possible," "Impossible!"

I suppose I can agree with that, at least in most cases. Although, when it comes to something like Yo's, I tend to notice as few as two of those in a row when I'm playing Craps, so I know I would start that count right.

Again, I'm not trying to defend the story or say that I even believe it in any way. The only position I've ever taken on 18 Yo's in a row is that, strictly speaking, it's not impossible.

The only thing about gambling with some people is that it is just like being an athlete back in High School in the sense of needing your story to be bigger than the guy to last tell his story. I've obviously seen that a lot, and that's why I just stick to the complete truth (not saying AlanM didn't) when it comes to these things. It's not a competition. I've had some rare and unusual shit happen, some of it was cool, but even more rare stuff has almost certainly happened to other people.

I guess I'm saying we've all got stories, and if they are true, I think they're all pretty good. Many people out there will probably have a better, "Best," story than I have...and I'm good with that. Some people aren't good with that, and again, I'm not necessarily referring to AlanM.

To recap the WOV thread "Collection For Dan Lubin".

The hat is being passed for Paigowdan's widow. Apparently Dan was not as successful as many had believed. Shackleford has made that painfully clear to the forum. No more high rise, no movin' on up, wife's massage business slow, sparse income from his paigow game invention.

Wizardofnothing (Mr Moneybags) pledged 10% of his win from a weight loss bet that he won from Fat Blonde to Dan's wife. Fat Blonde didn't pay....an offense that would get anyone else nuked. WOV (Mr Moneybags) then says nope, he didn't get his money from Fat Blonde so tough luck to Dan's wife. No money for you.

The reaction from the members was swift.

Beachbum bimbo: "Tacky". DJTeddyBear: "Tacky is an understatement". Then he said "Either make a donation or STFU".

Zcore13: "Ridiculous comment". MaxPen: "As classless as it gets". Paradigm: "This was an insensitive post, a moronic post".

Now someone poses the question - Would Dan want his family to accept money that was gotten by AP since he was so against AP?

What's interesting is that while they all abhor WoN's actions, some are now calling for him to make a large donation " to make it right". Cough up $500 bucks and all is forgiven. Will he stand his ground or succumb to this blackmail? Yes, good intentions or not, it's still blackmail.

Most disturbing, more than the reneging, is the fact that WoN would use this platform to try to collect a debt that has no bearing on the thread started to help Dan's widow. Interesting that only one mod bothered to comment on this.

I myself went back and forth with this very thought. When, this collection was announced, my immediate reaction was that I wanted to contribute, even though I am not a member of the site. My thought was I was a member of the site at one time, something I enjoyed, and even though I disagreed vehemently with Dan's position on AP's of which I am one, he was also a member of the same site, so despite our differences on this matter, I wanted to make a donation based on that common interest, WoV.

This type of thing isn't uncommon for me. I like to make such donations, even to people I have no connection with. Probably twice a month, there is a story on the local news, usually involving someone who's life was taken too early, leaving a unexpected burden to their family, that I make some sort of contribution too. Call me a sap....it's something I like to do.

But as I thought about it further, I changed my mind in regards to Dan. Based on his rhetoric, this was a man so anti-AP, that given the chance, he would have likely ratted me (and other AP's) out. In other words, given the chance this is someone, who would have taken money out of my pocket and/or tried to end or damage my career. For that reason, I decided this was not a person I wished to honor, so I changed my mind.

Is this really necessary? I say make a donation of your own or STFU. Given that you are a Member in good standing, you can PM Wizard and get the information you need to send a donation.

I didn't comment on it because other people already had and the post violated no rules. If you want to know whether or not I found the post in poor taste, yes I did, at least in THAT thread, but that has already been said. I don't need to repeat what has already been said.

If private arrangements were being made concerning HotBlonde paying, you would know nothing about them, so I leave that at that.

Done. We've moved all the recent off-topic posts to the off-topic section here.

Folks, as we slither our way back into the shadows, please continue to report any posts that violate our rules to bring it to our attention so that we can take swift action from behind the scenes to keep our site civil and respectful and focused on on-topic gambling discussions.

Since we don't delete posts, don't close threads, don't temporarily ban, and just slow down access to the site every 3 infractions, we have no problem erring on the side of giving an infraction, so keep hitting that "Report" link when someone violates a rule.

As a reminder, here are our rules:
    • Be Respectful
    • No Disruptive Behavior
    • No Selling, Advertising, or Promoting
    • No Posting of Contact Details
    • No Affiliate Links
    • No Multiple Accounts
    • No Off-topic Posting
    • No Doxxing

Please follow them at all times.

Lastly, please do not invoke us or otherwise involve us and you will not hear from us.

    Thank you.

    ...

This thread is now back on-topic. Our apologies for our involvement in the recent derailment.

    Carry on.

Is what really necessary? Repeating what your leader said? Was it necessary for him to say it? Was it necessary for him to say that Dan was out of shape and that smoking killed him?

Maybe you didn't comment because you didn't want to rock the boat with your buddy, Wizardofnothing. Didn't he hand you money to play slots in Atlantic City? Biased much?

What I don't get is why no one calls out WON/StrictlyWelshing for the obvious hypocrisy. Sure the post was in poor taste but the fact that he is a confirmed welsher who was nuked for the offence and is now trying to shame someone else for the same thing just takes it over the top.

According to this site, Wizard of Odds is worth 155k and Wizard of Vegas and additional 15k. Why would LCB pay what they did? Admittedly, I have no idea how this stuff works. Just found this curious.

I highly doubt that site can accurately determine what a site is worth. I guarantee that is very low.

Why are there green up arrows when there are negative numbers stated?
Are you adding the green arrows. That doesn't seem to make sense.

I don't get the numbers either. The numbers that are up, are up a percent. The numbers that are down tell you how far down in ranking (rather that percent). Yet as Nate mentioned, both sets have a green arrow pointing up.

But the bigger point. Where did anyone say Wizard of Odds was dying? WoO is the math, numbers part of the site, and I don't think anyone said that is dying or not useful. WoO is a great site, whether you are an AP or recreational gambler or whatever.

The argument and title of this thread is Wizard of Vegas, the message board part of the site, is dying. Or at least the numbers are sharply off from several years ago.

And I don't even like any numbers of daily visits, concerning message board type sites, where a small, or relatively small number of members (even 200 as WoV averages daily) checks back in a number of times a day. You get one or two threads that people are interested in or find amusing, like ZenKinG's thread and people keep checking back in to see the new posts. That really isn't an indication of anything, certainly not potential paying customers for something like online casinos. Those same relatively small group of people are checking in a number of times, day after day. They are just as unlikely to patronize an online casino as the first time they visited the site.

....and by the way, speaking of the ZenKing thread....this guy is definitely NOT cut out to be a card counter type AP. I have always been supportive of ZenKing on several sites, although we were only on one at the same time, for a short time. He is one of those younger guys that could benefit greatly by a couple players that have traveled the path before him, sharing their experiences. He isn't getting that much advice from people that really want to help him, getting much more criticism, but he doesn't seem to be progressing, nor accepting the advice that he is getting. He is sweating the short term swings way to much and refusing to look towards the long run and that really is what blackjack is all about.

As of this morning he is down $8500 in about 2 weeks. I play similar stakes as him and a month ago, I lost 13k on a 7 day road trip a and then since returning home am down another 8k. That's a loss of 21k in 5 weeks. These swings happen in blackjack! You don't see me crying on a daily basis about all the casinos cheating me, or god or everyone else out to get me. If you are going to take your stab at blackjack card counting advantage play, understand what you are getting in to and how it works. The fact is that blackjack card counting is the slimmest of advantages, IF you do everything right. And because it is such a tiny (long-term) advantage it comes with tremendous variance (swings). It is not that hard to understand in this day and age, when there is good software products (some by really lousy people) that easily show you this.

This goofball, ZenKing continues to do everything wrong. His first couple days he played strip casinos, when everyone told him the better games were off-strip. He lost those first couple days. Then he went off strip for a day or two and won half of his original losses back. So what did he do? Went back to the strip and lost some more. Does this make sense to anyone? o_O

He has become so concerned with casinos cheating him and the showing the cards thing that he has been asking various pit people if they show the cards. What a freaking moron! He might as well tattoo 'card counter' on his forehead! Finally he has found a place that spreads the cards for him to see, and decided that is his new favorite casino.....Aria. Aria is probably the sweatiest casino in Vegas, besides El Cortez and maybe South Point. Certainly the sweatiest on the strip. And what's bad about Aria, is unlike El Cortez and south point that just back you off, Aria is VERY active in OSN and other databases. They initiate entries if they back you off. This means you will not only lose the ability to play there, but other places as well. Because of this Aria is the last place I would play. It is not in my rotation and I will only play there if it is a very busy night like a fight night, that they are just too busy to bother with my $400/$500 top wager. Otherwise playing aria is just really "counter" -productive (pun intended).

I would have helped this guy out some, if I was a member of WoV. Hell even not a member, I considered contacting Axel and wanting in on that very small meet-up. Meet-ups are against my style and comfort level, but a very small meet-up would have been ok. That is I was interested in helping ZenKing until his third day when he was crying about he losses, and how much Vegas sucked, he somehow, came to the conclusion that because he had lost for 3 days, "Kewlj was a fake and worked for the casino's luring young players to Vegas". What a nut job! How is that even related? Hey I have lost for a month now, I guess that means Schlesinger, Wong, Uston, Revere, and others that inspired me were full of shit.

Oh, and to those of you not reading the Zenking thread at WoV....you should...it is pretty amusing stuff.;) Even if you don't play blackjack, it is freaking hilarious stuff. Most entertaining thing I have read at WoV in a long time. As a blackjack player it is 'sad' amusing, but none the less amusing. The entitlement this guy thinks he has.

This would make a good...."what NOT to do book"! Not only concerning blackjack play, but moving to Vegas and just life in general. A NOT to do blueprint!
